If you are looking for an alternative to the many"budget" motels and inns around the Lakes Region and the very pricey and overrated Mills Falls family of private-chain hotels, the TownePlace is my No.1 alternative that fits both one's budget and packed with great ammenities - like the nicely sized indoor pool to the comp continental-style breakfast served in the main lobby. This time of year, opt for rooms in the upper floors for a great view of the fall foliage, and just relax and unwind. My choice for a memorable Lakes Region stay.

Room Tip: Snag an upper floor in the fall for foliage views; otherwise, choose the interior rooms away from the roadway.

In spite of the fact that this is a commercial Marriott property, the stay felt like a very comfortable B&B. Front staff was excellent and well versed in the area we were visiting. The room (complete with kitchen) was spotless and had all the comforts of home that were available for use. Location is quite good for exploring the Lake Region of New Hampshire and is a convenient spot along the way to break up a trip from Boston in heading to the White Mountains. Breakfast is included in the rate and was very good--albeit with an early (9:00 am) ending. Nevertheless, there was a good assortment of breakfast fare offered.

Stayed here for one night and found the experience Nice. THe room was clean and the service very good. The breakfast closes at 9:00 am which could be a problem for late risers, but the coffee is always open.

Room Tip: Upper floors are the Quietest

We recently stayed a few nights here with our labrador. The room was very modern, clean, very comfortable, spacious, and DOG FRIENDLY! Most hotels with dog friendly rooms can be pretty smelly and not very nice. The room was impeccable. The staff was very professional and always kind.

Room Tip: We found the rooms facing away from the parking lot are quieter. The hotel as a whole is very nice.
