You can't beat this place for its breakfast, apple pies and home baked goods. Always busy and always a line but a must visit place in town.

It was crowded, and frankly it is ALWAYS crowded and for good reason. The food is delicious, healthy, plentiful and well-prepared. The staff is friendly and the customers: students, parents and locals are happy to be there. This isn't a college joint, it's a local spot and I highly recommend breakfast.
Bakery: One of our favored family bakeries in the Boston area is Quebrada. Special occasion...we go to Quebrada which never fails. So now it was my turn to host a family birthday celebration in the Upper Valley, I had to choose a bakery to make the cake. Based on recommendations I read online, I chose Lou's.
Lou's did not fail and drew family praise as on par with Quebrada. I ordered our family favorite, a 10" chocolate cake with raspberry filling and real whipped cream frosting. A knockout! Thank you Lou's.
Typical american menu for breakfast, there are salty options as burritos and sweet options as pancakes. Dishes are huge, I ate pancakes and I was not hungry for lunch. Bakery is also good. The only problem is coffee (quite bad).
It felt like going back in time to an old-timey diner. There was a wait for a table, which i hear is common on weekends. The food, especially the baked goods and the pancakes were great. The service was not rushed (even with the wait) and the atmosphere was lively. The kids liked it. The location is awesome, right on the main strip and a couple of blocks from the Dartmouth campus.
