On a warm day in early November, I took drive along the coast. When I got to Jenness State Beach, I noticed quite a few cars in the parking lot. I drove in and parked.
Some people were walking along the beach; others were sitting in beach chairs. A few were walking with dogs. That is permitted after November 1st. I did some walking myself.
It was a good place to be on a warm day in the fall after the summer crowds were gone.
In season, the bathhouse and restrooms are open.
Also in season, this beach is a good place for surfing medium-sized waves as well as the usual beach activities of sunbathing and swimming.
I’ve also been here during the regular season. It’s a nice sandy beach.
On a clear day, one can see some of the nine Isles of Shoals as I did. Some are in New Hampshire; some are in Maine.
I rate Jenness State Beach at 4.50 and can recommend a visit.

I loved this beach. It was perfect for surfing. Coming with your friends is the best experience. The sand is nice and soft, too. I recommend coming to this beach!
Very nice beach. Nice sand, good waves (not too strong, but good for kids and we also saw some surfers).
Nice bath house and outdoor rinse off locations.
Parking can be a challenge and there is a fee.
We decided to try a different beach and so glad we did! Less crowded than Hampton obviously since it’s smaller. Loved watching the surfers. Bathrooms were clean and no lines. We parked across the street behind the surf shop for $20 on a Thursday. I wish I thought to ask what it is on the weekends. The metered parking fills up very early. We will definitely go back to this beach.
Beautiful wide beach in Rye that is super easy access from the parking lot (which fills very early).
We came here on this October nite to eat some ice cream and smell the ocean. It was dark, then the harvest moon rose all reddish above the dark sea. It seemed as though we could see it moving. Great night on the beach
