Enjoyed an evening at the Hunter’s Lodge with some great music and good food. A band called “Off the Road” played some great classic rock and roll! . . . I remember stopping as a kid to have some ice cream and feed the deer. . . . We had the coconut shrimp, which were good and fresh. The burger and fries were also good. We look forward to returning and trying some other menu items.

We had a reservation for 4, had a very good dinner. They offered a prixe fix dinner that we didn't do, only because my husband is not into seafood, so we ordered off of the menu. 3 of us got the rib eye. A little cool on the outside, but done to the way they asked for, good taste. My seafood pot was very good, service great.

We stayed in the motel, in a renovated room..still rustic and reno and the entire property is a work in progress by a nice couple and their staff. There is enough room for any size vehicle and boat and if the new owners are given a chance, could be a successful cheap florida style motel with more than adequate home comfort food at a very reasonable price. Its seems to attract locals, hunters in season, budget watchers, family and guests that just dont wanna spend a lot of money.

We'd driven past the Hunter's Lodge so many times that my wife and I barely noticed it, anymore. But one Saturday as we were coming back from Pennsylvania with a rocking chair jammed in the trunk of the car like we'd been rear-ended by a crazed wicker grandma, we decided to stop for an early lunch, and we left just before the wall clocked ticked us into evening.

The restaurant and bar, decorated in a hunter theme, was dark and friendly, the beer ws cold (and reasonably priced), the menu was not expansive but had items as mixed-up as a Knowlton burger (extra peanut butter, please?) to a fabulous dinner offering featuring delicious scallops over pasta, huge shrimp in a white sauce over pasta, steaks sandwiches and a great assortment of appetizers.

The food and the drink were just partial highlights of this trip to the little oasis on the bank of the Delaware River. The bartenders (Lily, Patricia), the hosts (Doreen and Nelson) and the cook (who, I'm sorry to say,we knew by sight, but not by name) were all welcoming, pleasant, friendly and dedicated to ensuring we had a great time during our stay.

We decided that day we'd visit the Hunter's Lodge again, as we have many times since that first time back in June. Its now a favorite stop for us.

PS. HL got the 5th star because they promised to keep the beer glass chilled!

While the bar is nice, the restaurant is disappointing. Food is average but many things are never in stock. They now seem to cater to the biker crowd. Turned off with appetizers which contained fake scallops-but not fake prices. Server was hard to find and spent most of her tome outside smoking or talking on the phone. It used to be much better but the new decor and menu is not worth the trying.

I tried to contact this reviewer as they made untrue statements about the scallops being fake. I would be happy to take them in my kitchen and show them the quality scallops that we purchase fresh at the market. But they would not respond, so , perhaps they don't know scallops? Out food is always highly praised and I am surprised at this review. WE would be very happy to give the reviewer their money back as we guarantee all of our meals purchased at anytime.
