If you want to enjoy a peaceful and stressfree stay with all the amenities....THIS IS THE PLACE! When we arrived to check in we where greeted by Felix who was very courteous and personable. When traveling it is very hard to find anyone who cares about the guest anymore customer service is non existent.Felix takes customer service to a whole new level! He payed attention to us talking about finding some legendary places to in in New York, and within seconds he had printed out some places with directions without even being asked for them. The room was very nice and the pillows are the best! I've stayed at five star hotels that did'nt have the level of customer service the doubletree had.6 stars in my book! If you get lucky enough to visit the doubletree ask for Felix and bring some milk because he will give you a cookie at check in that is amazingly warm and delicious.KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB FELIX AND THE REST OF THE DOUBLETREEE.......SINCERELY,
MR. GEORGETOWN

Good value ,nice clean hotel & rooms. ! Chose this hotel as to not spend a fortune on a NYC hotel...2 easy safe blocks to the PATH train station, and you are in NYC in 15 minutes. If you do not mind this short commute, it is the way to go ! Wonderful views of the city. NJ Lightrail train runs right behind the hotel. There is also a mall right behind the hotel. Parking very tight due to construction of the new hotel next door. Noise early in the AM is an issue if you want to sleep in, due to construction, but we were up & about early so not a bother to us. The restaurant was expensive and disappointing. Eat elsewhere. Staff friendly & accomodating...

I was on business trip with my wife. The hotel itself was ok. The room was clean and spacious but there was no wi-fi service and wired Internet was very very slow and definitely does not cost $12.95 a day. Also they tryed to charge us tow times for a same day when we connected another laptop. In comparison other hotels have much better Internet service for free.

Spent some time on the Internet searching for a place to stay near New York for a weekend in the middle of a business trip, chose this hotel, and hit upon a real gem. Staff were friendly and helpful, Anthony in particular managed to secure us a great table at a nearby restaurant with a stunning view of Manhattan. Rooms were large with 2 TVs, and very clean. Though internet was charged in the room, you could pop down to the lobby for free wireless. The location itself is brilliant, safe and clean and very convenient to get into New York by PATH (plus easy access to/from Newark Airport). It will be nicer when the construction work is finished that is true, but for a slightly more relaxed approach to staying in New York, and freeing more dollars for shopping, you couldn't go wrong with this hotel

Our family of 5 stayed at the Doubletree when our flights were cancelled due to the Icelandic volcano eruption in April '10. My initial fears of staying out of Manhattan were quickly forgotten during our 9-day stay. We got a room thanks to the help of the staff at our NYC hotel (Doubletree Times Square) and arranged a late check-in at 12pm after a long day in the airport. The staff were friendly and very helpful to us in our hour of need, finding us a room for the night and then keeping us in the same room for an additional 8 nights at such short notice. The room was large and contained a huge TV, a sofa which pulled out into a double bed and a small kitchen area with a fridge. Adjoining was a large bedroom with 2 very comfortable double beds and another huge TV, and a good sized bathroom. Local area was excellent, with the Hudson Bergen light rail to the rear of the hotel it was easy to travel to Liberty State Park to the south or Hoboken and Weehawken to the North for a couple of dollars each. Within a five minute walk from the hotel is the PATH station with trains into Lower Manhattan every 4 minutes 24/7, and the ferry terminal which serves several destinations around the city (inc. midtown) so getting around was easy and affordable. Next to the hotel is Newport Shopping Mall with a multitude of stores inc. Macy's & JC Penneys, and there are plenty of other stores a short distance from the hotel to cater for all needs. We all enjoyed our stay in Jersey City for a number of reasons - the hotel is immaculate and the staff are all so nice, the area is clean & we always felt safe, and there is one thing you don't get when you stay in Manhattan - the view of the city itself. Watching the sunset on NYC from across the Hudson was amazing. So thanks to the staff at Doubletree Times Square for finding us a room so we didn't have to sleep in the airport, and the Doubletree Jersey City for their help and friendliness during our stay. thanks for the cookies Mildred!
