We have been going to 709 for a couple of years now and continue to enjoy the food options. Upon entry you are in the great bar room with a good sized bar and ample space for seating. There are high tops near the bar or you can sit at the sushi bar. Behind the bar room is a good sized room for sit down meals. The facility was renovated prior to opening and has this cool color changing bubble water feature that dominates the room. The bathrooms are clean and maintained
My lady and I usually try and eat at the bar and we always seem to end up in conversations with our bar mates. The bar itself is well stocked with name brands and I think(?) the well brands are reasonably known. We usually order a Moscow Mule and the drinks are well made with a reasonable alcohol/ mixer ratio. One pet peeve I have is being served a mixed drink in a water glass or iced tea goblet. 709 has the right glass for the job.
Food wise, there are many options. You can do pub grub, if you like that or do sushi or more traditional restaurant options. We many time we get an appy or two and sushi. We enjoy the 709 appys because there are both healthy and comfort food options. The menu has changed but the fish bites are every bit as tasty as are the pretzels. I personally miss the chick pea fries but you should be able to get a feel for the breadth of offerings. There is music on the weekends and big screen tvs that are on but muted. I'm guessing they are not muted all the time (as for example during more traditional sports time like the afternoons) so you can enjoy a game as well
It's one of our go to places. I believe you will enjoy it as well
