This was the first time I visited a Ruth Chris Steakhouse in a couple of years. I used to rate Ruth Chris tops, but they are clearly being overtake by numerous other first class steakhouses in many cities -- see several of my recent steak house reviews, were all were better than Ruth Chris.
Where Ruth Chris is losing ground is in the all important taste of the food. Steaks are great, always have been, and are as good as in the past -- but, somehow, other steak houses are coming up with more flavor -- both steaks, and (especially) side dishes. Macaroni with cheese and creamed spinach are staple side dishes at steak houses, and this is the area where Ruth Chris has been surpassed the most. Their side dishes are no longer a match for what others are serving.
Service is good -- as always. Same with ambiance. And, the wine selection is good.
