Saddle River County Park is a 596-acre county park in Bergen County, stretching from Ridgewood to Rochelle Park. The park is located along the Saddle River and consists of five sections, all of which are connected by a paved path that is open to both pedestrians and bicyclists.
There are several "unofficial" access points, but there is good parking at all five of the formal entrances. I use the one closest to wherever I happen to be depending when I get into the mood to go for a good long walk.
This one is particularly good because the park here is very large and the parking lot rarely gets full.
The path is always interesting because the Saddle River changes, sometime dramatically, with each changing season. Of course, because the path runs along the shore of the river, the walking and biking are very easy for people of all ages.
