First this is the Royal Mandarin in Deptford not Woodbury. Next to Staples and DD. This has been our go to place for dine in and take out for ourselves, family and friends for years. While we enjoy their Chinese menu we have enjoyed the sushi the most. Until this week. We ordered pieces and roll's for us and two family members. We picked up the order and went home. Thirty minutes later family arrives and we set out the sushi. It was poorly rolled and not flavored like anything we've ever had before. The spicy tuna, lobster and salmon roll's? Over dressed with mayo? Not sure but the whole meal was horrible. We can only think that the owners Chris and Mei must have sold the business. We emailed our comments to their contact info on the website the next morning (Tuesday) and haven't heard from them. We deceided to wait until Friday before posting. Sad, we had dined at this restaurant any enjoyed the food until now. $72. plus wasted. We gave up tossed the sushi and ordered pizza.

This location is located in a small strip mall. Parking is adequate and easily accessible. The waitstaff is sometimes brusque, other times very gracious. Service is prompt but we have never felt rushed. The room is small, so you may wind up looking at the swinging kitchen doors or in the draft of the opening and closing front door. That said the selections we have had on our visits have always been well prepared. Our most recent was the Seven Wonders. All the seafood was perfectly cooked, the veggies were all bright and crisp, all served in a brown sauce. Try the Mandarin soup for two. It is chock full of seafood, chicken and fresh veggies, served steaming hot. Very delicious on a cool night. The sushi dishes we have had on previous visits were VERY fresh and presented beautifully. There are high chairs available for young children, the restaurant is on level with the sidewalk so there are no steps to negotiate. The restaurant does offer take out.

If you like their other locations, you will like this place too. I did find although the menu items are sometimes the same, they are prepared differently. I like the hotel towelettes they provide after your meal too.

Horrible wait staff, food very mediocre. Folks please don't waste your money. I've been eating Asian/Chinese cuisine on a WEEKLY basis for 30 years. This was terrible. The server was rude and this transcended the language barrier. The food was over priced and not very good. Don't waste your time or money. I went for lunch and my friend and I were shocked at the poor quality of the entire lunch.

We love all of "The Mandarin Groups" restaurants and this is one of our favorites! The food is always top quality for take-out or dining at any of their 6 locations and we've been to all!
