Firstly, it is SUCH a shame that this Villa got such bad reviews over one incident as this place is truly wonderful. We stayed here with some friends without the kids and we were all thrilled. We stayed in Villa 3 which is the newest I believe and definitely the nicest. The Villa is a lovely blend of modern and traditional, exactly what we wanted. The staff were lovely and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in two nights and the food was fantastic quality and ridiculously cheap!! $22AUD fed five hungry adults! The chilli crab is to die for!! Breakfasts were fantastic but in the end we got a bit tired of eggs and nasi goreng and ended up going out on a couple of occasions. But I'm sure they would have accommodated our needs if we asked them. We ate out of the villa, only because we are all "foodies" and loved trying the brilliant restaurants in Seminyak but it would be equally great to eat in as the Chef can pretty much cook up anthing. I have to say the best thing about Villa Masillia is the location!! It is literally a stone's throw from all the great shops in Seminyak, an easy stroll to Ku De Ta and the beach and is down a lovely, leafy lane and surrounded by other luxury villas. There are a lot of far more expensive villas nearby which I peeking in to and I really think in terms of value for money, Villa Masillia is easily on par with the more expensive accommodation. As for being family friendly, there were two families at the larger Villa and they seemed to love it. They had a fence around the pool which seemed great. That said, if we were to travel again with young kids it may be better to stay at a hotel with activities and restaurants on site etc as Seminyak can be hard to navigate at nite, let alone with kids. Anyway, all and all a fantastic stay.... we would be more than happy to return!!

Villa Massilia was truly amazing. We were a family group of 16 which included 3 children under 12 years old. We rented out Villa's 1 and 2 which opened up to a very large and accommadating area with two pools. We requested a pool fence around the large main pool area and netting over the smaller pool in Villa 2 because we had a 15 month active baby in our group. This was all organised by the wonderful and efficient staff of Villa Massilia prior to our arrival. We had 9 days at the villa and we were very sad to leave that little piece of paradise. The staff of Villa Massilia were absoloutely terrific and accommadating to all our needs or requests regardless of how small or big they were. We dined in a lot around the big dining table in the main villa. The food cooked and prepared by the wonderful chefs at the Villa was to die for. The cost of the food in which we often had extra friends in as well was so cheap and the food was so delicious. Chilli Mud Crabs, Suckling Pig, Chicken Curry, Fried Rice and Noodles and Spaghetti Bolognese are just a few of the favourites to mention. Totally loved the privacy of the unit and the location which was very close to Ku De Ta and the main shopping and eating areas of Seminyak. The family enjoyed a 40th Birthday Celebration whilst we were there, in which we had a pre dinner drinks and cocktails for around 30 people. All in all it was a wonderful experience and our family would like to thank all the staff including Adie, Maya, Maday, Gusti, Dewi, Noiman and all the kitchen and cleaning staff whom I can't remember all their names. But just Thankyou for making our holiday a great success!! I am sure we will be back to visit in the near future.

Room Tip: Tastfully decorated large bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds. Quiet, can be made dark and wit...

We stayed at Villa Massilia for my wifes 50th birthday in late May - we booked all three villas and from the time we arrived and was greated by Ade's beautiful smille, till the time we unfortunately had to leave (as we didnt want to go) all I can say to all the staff is THANKYOU you really made us feel welcome - the villas are absolutely fantasic and the staff are all brilliant and cant do enough for you. The chef's cooking is top knotch and Gusti was a shear delight to meet and I am now glad to now call him a friend. All 22 of my extended family had a blast and WE WILL BE BACK you can take that to the bank - HIGHLY RECOMMEND VILLA MASSILIA to anyone

I also stayed here for the 50th week trip and can say without hesitation it was absolutely fantastic! Gusti and Ada were great and so were the rest of the staff. Nothing was too hard to do. My brother had a private cooking lesson in the villa kitchen and loved it. He only had to pay about 5 AUD for ingredients and the meals that were made would feed 10! (we gave a tip of course!). I miss it already and would go back anytime!!

We stayed here for a week recently for my sister in laws 50th Birthday celebrations. We hired the whole complex of villas as there was 22 people - which included 5 children. It was perfect for a large group (even a smaller group would be fine also). The space and layout of the villas was great as being with a large group you could go off and have alone time and you wouldn't hear noise from the other villas (not that we were that loud!!). Each villa had its own pool so if you did have children with you and wanted a quiet swim you could still do that. The first morning we had breakfast cooked in one villa but with 22 hungry people at once we thought that perhaps it would be better to have them cook it in separate villas each monring at allocated times as it was a bit easier for them rather than trying to cook larger amounts all at once. This worked perfectly for all of us. You have to remember that we they cook for our breakfast is not what they eat so quantity wise you have to be a bit give and take anyway - but we found there was enough. There were a couple of times that mix up happens - but hey you are on holiday so nothing major to stress about and it was sorted out quickly and efficiently. They were clean and they staff came around twice each day to check on things as well as at night light the mozzie coils and spray each room and turn down the bed. The food was absolutely to die for - the chicken curry is the best. We had a birthday seafood dinner and that was brought out promptly and well worth it for the amount it cost for 22 people would not pay for 2 people back in Perth!. The staff came at regular intervals and asked if you needed anything, They organised for washing to be done - this came back a couple of days later but you have to remember this is Bali - not drycleaners back in Perth - Bali/holiday time. Although if we had asked I'm sure it would have come back sooner but we werent in a hurry. They can organise tours, taxis, drivers etc. You get bottled water in the bathroom each day plus there is also a water cooler in each of the kitchens (large ones like in offices) that you have full access to whenever you want. It open plan apart from the bedrooms and this is just perfect for Bali - at first I thought oh no its too hot but being high ceilings it really wasn't and anyway if you are hot just jump in the pool. Each pool area had its own cabana and daybeds and towels were refreshed each day for the pool. The bathroom is open air but very well designed. You can stay in an eat - you just tell them what you want or choose from the menu - as long as you didn't tell them at the last minute as they need to go out and buy the food for you fresh - it's not a problem. They normally ask you in the morning if you think you would be staying in. You only pay for the cost of the food which was very little - one lunch for all of us only cost about $4 each!! Would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone - even if the other villas were let out separately each has its own entrance so its not a problem. It's walking distance to main Seminyak road and 5 mins walk to Ku De Ta. Once you get your bearings you work out which laneway is quicker depending on which end of Seminyak you want to be. We even walked from their to main Kuta area and its a beautiful walk and much quicker than a taxi would have been. whilst there have been less than favourable reports on this we didn't encounter any problems and would all go back again - it was even mentioned to make it an annual family gathering. Enjoy if you stay there.
