the owner is MONEY DRIVEN AND RUDE. on our last day we were told by the owner we couldn't use the swimming pool as he had care for the new customers. what about the old customers??? disappointed as the property itself was not too bad although the location is far away from the main street

Room Tip: the owner is MONEY DRIVEN AND RUDE. the property itself is far away from the main street

Toyabali, Inhaber at Toyabali Beach Bungalows, responded to this reviewResponded 7 June 2016

Our beautiful infinity pool is a magnet for our guests, that´s why we offer a sunbed for each guest, which is very welcome. Also after check-out time our guests are still welcome and may use the pool and sun-beds, of course for free. That active guests have priority in the allocation of sunbeds, should be understood and no basis for discussion. There are still other nice and comfortable facilities for relaxing, available in our small paradise.
We are happy to be far enough from the main road, that you only hear the warbling of the birds and the sound of the sea and no trucks, cars and motorcycles. Our parking area is close to the resort.

We opted for something a little special for our honeymoon and Toyabali Tulumben did not disappoint. It's always special when the owners are waiting to greet you, Guenter and Monika, thank-you. The rooms are very tastefully decorated, well air conditioned, cleaned perfectly everyday and located in very private little sections of a lush colorful garden. The bathroom / shower area is what makes this place super special. Massive spa bath with the shower being set under the stars... The rooms are all very close to the dining area and we landed up eating there every night for 6 nights, meals very delicious and extremely well priced. The infinity pool is also super special and the pool deck lends its self to long lazy afternoons relaxing in the sun or under the umbrellas with a cocktail. There is a scuba dive centre within a couple of hundred meters from the resort. We also spent hours snorkeling right in front of the hotel. The Liberty Wreck is located within swimming distance and can be seen from the surface if diving is not your thing. Thanks all in all for a great week. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Toyabali a couple of weeks ago and had the most wonderful time imaginable. If you are looking for a place you can totally relax and calm, here you go. The location is beautiful, the villas extremely nice, clean and well maintained. Very friendly and helpful staff. To our luck the owners were there at the same time, making our stay even more special due to a lot of funny and interesting conversation. Being there felt like staying with a family. Thanks to everyone at toyabali, hopefully we will be back one day.

Beautiful bungalows set amongst private gardens - it's a tropical oasis. The best infinity pool I've ever swam in, and the snorkelling/diving is about 2 minutes walk, the location is amazing!

We couldn't speak more highly of the facilities and the staff, we're already planning our next trip back.

We recently stayed here for 2 night. The convenient location is in walking distance from the "village" center is a great plus. It is a bit tucked away from the main road and the walk in the night is rather dark - bring some flashlight along.

Upon arrival we were immediately escorted to our rooms etc. A small brief about breakfast / dinner times etc would certainly upgrade the welcome experience.

The 5 villas are built in high quality with a massive outdoor area including Jacuzzi, shower and toilet. The villa features a nice balcony with a dining table and two super comfy "lazy boy style" loungers.

The only negative is the airflow/air-conditioning in the villa - even there are two AC units it does not cool enough (for someone like me who likes it rather cool during night this is an issue, for someone who is fine with warm nights that may be fine).

The garden is neat and well kept. The infinity style pool is small, but offers breathtaking ocean view.

The poolside restaurant is the "heart" of the resort is certainly a very nice place to have a bite r just relax on one of the two sofa's with amazing views of the ocean.
You may pick your own beer/soft drink out of the fridge and just keep log of your consumption.

Breakfast is rather simple. Some quality bread and home made jams would be a nice upgrade over the slightly toasted bread and jam from the convenient store.

You may need to order to dinner in advance since they prepare everything fresh. Food is of good quality - but I would have welcomed a few more traditional European dishes like a nice gordon-bleu or pasta.

Since there are only 5 villas (max 10 dinners) they could even make a suggestion / hit) of the day: I.e. Balinese duck, babi guling (balinese baby pig) or an ayam betutu.

This would certainly upgrade the dining experience and keep it easy and simple for the chef.

Portions are huge and value for money is excellent. However, I assume they cook with MSG (Monosodium glutamate !) - this may not become everyone well. Again, the food is excellent, but could be even better with fresh bread, MSG less and offer daily specials.

An espresso machine would add up too ;-)

Overall Monika and Guenter are lovely host and I can highly recommend this place for a getaway.

You get the best deal/rates if you contact Guenter directly! So after shopping around, send an email to Guenter.

Room Tip: Villa 'Denise" is closest to the beach with best views ;-)
