An average lunch. Reviews on tacos and hamburgers led us to believe the food was above to outstanding. NOT. The Oasis was busy, wait staff friendly & efficient. Good cabbage soup served prior to tacos which were just ok. Small hamburger tasted like patty had been cooked earlier & just reheated; bun was cold. Fries should have been cooked longer. Only two types of pies were available on this Sunday - chocolate icebox & a berry pie. (Didn't want either). Like many restaurants, they were slow to bring our check; so went to front to get check & pay. Restrooms were recently remodeled & clean. Will not go back.

My husband grew up in Raton and remembers eating at the Oasis when he was about 5--and that was 60+ years ago. Oasis is an old time diner. Staff was very friendly. Food was good. Cream pies were excellent. Crust was homemade! That's hard to find even in fancy restaurants.

The folks here were super nice, unfortunately the food was not nice. The food was gross, I mean green chile should be green, the slop we had on our enchiladas and burger was grey. Grey chile is gross, the beef in the enchiladas was plain ground beef with no seasonings and different grey in color than the chile. Avoid at all costs.

Don't expect your meal to come quick. This is not a fast food restaurant. You order it, they prepare it. Goodness takes time besides you are on New Mexico time - chill out for a while. We both had tacos, rice and beans. Everything was great but the beans were amazing. Not refried but cooked with ham hocks and onions.
Take the time to go out of your way to experience home cooking at this gem.

Solid, "old time diner" that has good, "old fashioned" food. Burgers, liver and onions (yea) and terrific caring waitresses.
