We had an amazing time. The food was good, the view was fantastic and the game drives were amazing. We should have brought jackets, it was cold, blankets were provided but it still would have been good to have a jacket. I'm glad we had our flashlights, they were used. There wasn't a menu and you got what the kitchen made, but dietary needs were taken seriously (veggie, allergies). The power did go out, we looked at is as part of the fun, it did come back on. The accommodations were beautiful and comfy beds. The pool isn't swimming size but it's relaxing with a drink size. Close toed shoes, sun screen, bug repellent, and a big appetite are needed (with flashlight and a medium jacket) as well as a desire to see what you can but not be too disappointed if you don't see all you want. There are night drives, I was terrified at first, but keep hands and legs inside the vehicle, don't stand up while viewing the leopard and you'll have an awesome memory to share.

Gomo Gomo Game Lodge is a very special place. Located next to a waterhole, you can relax in a lounge chair on the pool deck and watch the animals come to you without leaving the lodge. Without even moving, we were visited by Giraffe, buffalo, zebra, impala, warthogs, baboons, turtles, waterbuck and a variety if bird life.
The adventure truly begins when you head out on the series of tracks that surround the lodge with you guide and tracker. The vehicles are perfect for off road tracking, and our tracker was keen to get off road to give us a close up encounter with a leopard, elephants, rhino, giraffe, wild dogs, hippo and on our final day the elusive Lion.
We stayed three nights, and that gave us plenty of time to see everything that we were hoping to.
The accommodation was very good, the guest areas welcoming and the rooms spacious and comfortable.
Someone clever has planned this lodge, the aspect of the waterhole from the deck is perfect for the lazy afternoon between the sunrise and sunset safaris.
The staff were friendly and informative and the trackers very skillful.
I would highly recommend this place.

I agree with all of the positive reviews about Gomo Gomo, this was the end to 4 months away and was worth every Rand!
The accommodation is rustic and comfortable, detached 'bungalows ' with thatched roofs and brick walls, comfortable beds, adequate bathrooms and well serviced twice a day by very discreet staff, so discreet we never saw them!
The food is fine, not haute cuisine, plenty of it, good breakfasts, salads lunches and basic suppers, we didn't go to Gomo Gomo for food but for the Safari experience.
The two game drives per day are of 3+ hours duration each approximately, be mindful that you will be travelling over rough ground in a Land Rover and it can be uncomfortable and bouncy at time, this is not the air conditioned bus option, it's basic and does a wonderful job. Expect to see many animals, the trackers are skilled at spotting and finding them and are diligent in their jobs, spotting these animals is not guaranteed so some drives are better than others, the tracker and Ranger/driver do their best for you, thanks to Caswell, JP and Werner we saw a wide variety of animals, even 4 different Leopards, one so close it was amazing....it seems that lots of Rangers share their 'finds' via the vehicle radios so it may be quiet to start but there's a good chance you will see something!
I agree with a previous review that it's not all about 'The Big Five', there's plenty of other flora and fauna in the Kruger from Bush Veld Violets to Termites so don't be afraid to ask the questions, the staff have the knowledge and will even loan you books to help you learn about the stuff. Some of these questions are dealt with on the daily bush walk in the morning after breakfast.
There's wifi ( a bit slow) but ok for e mails etc, a well stocked bar ( wine by the bottle, not the glass) and be aware of what you have against your room number....Also it's up at 0515 daily for the morning game drive, early night recommended!
The swimming pool is small and refreshing and situated on a deck overlooking the waterhole where baboons drink every morning and other animals may just appear.
Overall we would do this trip again, there are some minor issues but aren't there always on holidays?
If this review has been useful to you I would appreciate you vote.

We had wonderful game viewing, saw the big five on second drive, we also saw wild dogs four times. It was made by our guide Damian who was very knowledgeable and and great fun as well. Our tracker Caswell was brilliant and could not do enough to help you.The rooms were very good, spacious and clean over looking the water hole where we saw various animals coming down to drink. We had a lovely swimming pool to relax in after the game drives and from there you could also see the water hole.Food was good served outside round a camp fire which was fun.
