“Incredible place to stay”
Reviewed 23 March 2012

We stayed for 2 nights but wish we could have stayed for longer!! The accomadation is lovely and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The waterhole is amazing and provides constant entertainment as the elephants, rhino, giraffe, warthogs etc etc all come for a drink during the day. There is nothing more amazing than cooling off in the swimming pool whilst a hundred yards away wild elephants are doing the same!!!
The rooms were extremely clean and well maintained with a luxorious bathroom and very comfy bed.
The only slight disappointment was the amount of animals we saw out on the game drive, not for the want of trying but proves that they are all wild animals and are free to go where they like. Would definitly recommend this lodge for a stay.

Where do I even begin. This place is all time!!! My fiance and I arrived and were greeted by Geraldine with cool hand towels and a welcome drink. The House is situated in front of a watering hole that had an elephant drinking just as we arrived - What a welcome! The house feels like a beautiful home. Relaxed but sophisticated it definitely felt like we were staying at someone's house rather than a stuffy lodge - which I'm sure exist. Words cannot describe the game drives, Coenie our guide was fantastic - tracking the animals and finding the mature male lions we were dying to see. He did such a great job. We saw 4 out of the big 5 and were totally amazed at all the other animals he taught us about. He has so much knowledge its incredible. Sue and Gordon - the owners - were so wonderful as well. They helped us every step of the way and even organized a trip into Botswana for us that was a spontaneous change of travel plans when our safari was finished. The food was 5 star!!! Everything from breakfast and snacks to our gourmet meals were to die for! The room we stayed in had a great view of the water hole, a super comfortable bed, a beautiful bath tub accompanied by beautiful salts and soaps. We definitely recommend the bush house to all of our friends and family and can't wait to return!

We stayed at the Bush House for four nights in early July, the cold season for Southern Africa. My wife and I both agreed that it was the best experience we've had on any trip we've taken. The lodge is small but filled with amenities: beautiful rooms, a really pleasant garden with plenty of spots to lounge, an amazing watering hole where we saw four of the big five.

The staff were completely attentive but without ever feeling in the way. In particular, Geraldine and Coenie made us feel at home. Our beds had hot water bottles in them at night. After every gave drive, Geraldine was waiting to welcome us back with either hot chocolate (in the morning) or sherry (in the evening.) Everyone was quick to get us a drink if we were thirsty or, really, anything else we wanted. The food was wonderful and well prepared.

And the game drives run by Coenie were filled with amazing sights. In four days, we saw the big five. A leopard crossed right in front of our car. At twilight, we found a pack of wild dogs who were defending their kill from four lionesses. We found a mating pair of lions in the deep brush. And we were able to watch a pride of lions at an elephant carcass.

Every part of the trip was perfect. I can't think of a single bad thing to say.

I took an early winter safari with The Bush House. Just a short drive from Gaborone, the lodge is nestled in a verdant oasis within the Madkwe Reserve. The rooms are well appointed for the relaxation I was looking for with comfortable beds and a surprising water bottle added during turndown to keep my toes toasty. The meals were fantastic, brunch, tea, and dinner were served on the veranda that overlooks a popular watering hole for the parks residents. The proprietors and staff effortlessly went out of their way to make this a relaxing and care free vacation. This was a fantastic experience and great value.
