We happened upon this restaurant Christmas Eve night in The Plaza. It is tucked away in the corner of an alley, hence "Alley Cantina." Service was a little slow, but they were busy, full of people laughing and visiting and having a good time. We enjoy a lively place such as this. There was shuffleboard that the kids were able to play while waiting for our food. The food was delicious with large portions. All in all a wonderful family experience.

This is a seat yourself casual atmosphere. We arrived early and were able to find a table. They seemed a bit short staffed but server worked quickly and was pleasant. There is a pool table and shuffle board. The burrito and pulled pork were very flavorful and generous portions.

great service. I was not impressed with the food. It had a strange taste that I just could not deal with.

The green chile stew here was one of my favorites during my entire stay in Taos, and I tried a number of them. A perfect balance of spicy and savory, well seasoned and a generous portion. Everyone at the table really enjoyed their meals, and indicated that they were looking forward to coming back. There was a fairly long wait for the food (app. 45 minutes-1 hour for a party of 5), and there only seemed to be one waitress for the entire restaurant (with a bartender to serve bar-side customers), so staffing may have been part of the issue.

I liked it in here- nice style. We had good American food and good table service. New Mexico enjoys putting the old green chilli in all your food and this place was no exception!
