I would recommend Bayside Inn & Marina to anyone who is visiting Cooperstown and nearby areas. It is a few miles outside of town and is very quiet and peaceful after a busy day in town. It is located on the very picturesque Otsego Lake and the views and tranquility are fabulous. The owners and employees are so kind and helpful. The motel room we chose is very comfortable and far enough away from the Lake so that we have less insects, perhaps, and still a view. With a refrigerator and microwave in the room we purchased a few groceries at The Price Chopper and were able to eat once in town and the rest of the time in our room. Free kayaks and canoes are part of the package as well as a game room with a pool table, vending machines, and video games. There is a common area with tables, games, and books that opens up to an expansive deck. My biggest concern is in the fitness room. I used one of the treadmills and the belt was not consistent. I had to literally hold on throughout the workout. The belt, I believe is dangerous for those who don’t know better who could lose their footing. I don’t know the condition of the other three pieces of equipment. There are ample opportunities to walk. If you drive to the yellow lot which is South of the inn and just after the SUNY campus, you can park and pay $2 to ride the trolley all day. It is a 1.3 walk from the lot to the Baseball Hall of Fame if you’re looking for exercise.

Friendly staff, clean room, soft bath towels. Beautiful view from our motel room. Beach was clean, the whole facility was well taken care of. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a place just outside Cooperstown, short very pretty drive.

We stayed two nights here during a family vacation. One night in the Inn and another in a cottage. The accommodations are clean and well kept. The views are gourgeous from all rooms an cottages. The grounds are also well kept and the sights are beautiful! I highly recommend this location for both families and couples. The staff is nice and helpful. I will be returning on my next trip to Cooperstown!!!!

Bayside staff are all very accommodating. Visited with another couple, and both rooms were very clean and spacious. Made use of the game room, very nice added feature. Small beach area perfect to relax at or cool off in the lake. Bayside is close enough to Cooperstown main street, an easy ride.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back probably get less street noise.

About 7 miles outside Cooperstown this lake side hotel was basic in a beautiful setting. Rooms were large comfortable, clean but a bit dated from a decorating perspective. But there was a refrigerator as well as a microwave and nice towels! There is a surprising large game room and kayak and canoes you can check out for free. Important to note that they have coffee and tea in the morning but no breakfast...and the closest restaurant/grocery is in Cooperstown. Bring food!
