My husband and I returned today form a two night stay at the The Inn at Cooperstown for their Bed & Brew Package. We were looking forward to the trip since finding it online, as the brewery makes some of my husband's (and now my) favorite beers. We were treated so wonderfully from the moment we checked in until the moment we left. Upon arrival, we were given a tour of the property, told to please ask if we wanted direction or recommendations to any of the area attractions and restaurants and escorted to our room. A huge plus was the ability to make coffee, tea and cocoa at anytime in the tastefully decorated parlor and sitting area. We took advantage of the free draft beer with an entree coupon that came with the room and went to The Pit right around the corner. A 1lb lobster for $15 and a free drink AND perfectly prepared? Sure thing!

The room was cute and comfortable. We opted for a king size bed, which had a more than acceptable mattress for my bad back. The wifi was fast and worked just fine with no glitches. There was no tv in the room, which was expected and preferable, as we spent no time in the room other than sleeping and preparing to go out. Most importantly, the room was kept warm and comfortable, as this was January, after all.

The craft beer night was memorable and comfortable. The brewers from Ommegang are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and together with the owners, Marc and Sherrie, you could tell that they truly enjoy what they do and why they do it. This was really my first "group" type weekend and many of the guests came together, or had met at previous years. I know why. We'll be telling all our friends to meet us there next time :)

I was surprised to read some of the lesser starred reviews about the free breakfast. This isn't a restaurant. The fruit was fresh and plentiful, the baked goods and bread were delicious and fresh and the quiche was perfectly cooked. Coffee, tea, several choices of juice. If you can't find enough that you like in that, than really you need to re-evaluate why you would stay in a bed and breakfast to begin with.

I would say the trip to Ommegang was the trip of a lifetime, but as we intend to come back again and again, that's really not true. The food was 5-star, the service was 5-star, the complimentary gifts were 5-star and when you put everything together, for this thrifty mom, you really do get your money's worth.

Thank you Marc & Sherrie and please thank your staff for us for the wonderful job they did to make this getaway one to remember!

The Inn at Cooperstown is a wonderful place to stay - it is so conveniently located, we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly, kind and helpful. They gave us great information on restaurants and attractions. The Inn is cozy, extremely clean, and very welcoming, and the town is charming. We would highly recommend it!

We recently stayed at the Inn at Cooperstown for their Bed and Brew special weekend. My wife and I were really looking forward to the weekend and I can say that it lived up to the expectations. The staff and owners of the inn were fantastic, always offering to help find a restaurant, answer questions about the town, or in general making sure we didn't need something. The inn is a beautifully restored building built in the 1800's and located right in town. The commons area was decorated nicely and included several rooms. One room offered coffee and tea all day and another room had games, a newspaper, and a TV. There was also a great front porch decked out with chairs to sit and relax. We stayed in a standard room and it had everything that I would expect. No problems with the wifi connection. The bed was comfortable and we got a good night's sleep both nights. Yeah, as mentioned in other reviews, the shower was a little small but you're really only in the shower for 5-10 minutes a day so what's the big deal. I was just happy that the bathroom was in the room and not shared with other guests. The breakfast is advertised as an expanded continental breakfast. It was nothing extravagant, just a good meal and served it's purpose of getting your day off to a good start. There is a parking lot behind the inn and we never moved our car the entire weekend as the town of Cooperstown is small enough to explore by walking. If you like to plan your activities around beer like we do, the bed and brew is something you want to experience. Everyone staying at the inn is there for the bed and brew so you are spending time with 30+ other people who enjoy beer as much as you do, including the 2 owners Marc and Sherrie. The Ommegang brewery tour/tasting and beer dinner were fantastic. I don't think it would be possible to leave there wishing you had been offered more beer. Our tour guide was one of the Ommegang brewers and he even stopped back at the inn after the beer dinner to spend more time with us. Thanks for a great weekend!

We just stayed for the Bed and Brew package. We felt that the entire weekend was a really good value. Between the room and the tour/tasting/dinner at Ommegang, it is a must for any beer lover or home-brewer! I would advise - if you don't like beer, this particular weekend is not for you.
All staff members were very accommodating - from interrupting their lunch to check us in early to offering to pick up take out for us after their shift!
I'm not used to complete quiet when I sleep, so I did not sleep through the night. If I come back, I will probably bring a small fan to create some white noise to help that matter.
I agree with previous review re: the showers - they were a little on the small side. I did not mind though as it was only for 2 nights and I'm not a very big person. I can see if you are a big guy how that might bother you.
Thank you, Marc and Sherrie, for making our vacation relaxing and enjoyable!

Room Tip: Front room at either end of the inn so you can have a window in your bathroom!

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Inn at Cooperstown while visiting the Hall of Fame and Brewery Omergang during the fall foliage. The Inn has all the things you can hope for in a place such as a historic inn- cute aesthetic, great location, nice staff, and overall a very clean place. However, this is not to say there are not a few things that can be done to improve the stay a bit. The few issues we had with our stay were our bedding and the shower. The queen size bed had a fairly comfortable mattress (though not as comfortable as it could be), but was set atop a fully metal frame that was not welded, but fitted together. This meant that when sleeping the bed frame would squeak and creek with most movement which is unfortunate. Perhaps less problematic, but still a bit troublesome was the shower. Admittedly retrofitting a historical building to meet modern standards of a full bath in every room is tricky and requires a smaller scale shower which is understandable. However, rather than opting for a glass surround for the small shower they opted for the less expensive and less time consuming curtain hang. Rather than allowing for ample space and the better open view/feel that a glass surround would provide, the curtain hang pulls inward when the water is running making an already claustrophobicly small shower feel even more so. If they could improve upon these 2 areas I'd say the Inn was deserving of the highest possible rating, but for now there's still room for improvement.

Room Tip: The standard room is smaller than the others, but has all the same amenities. If having slightly les...

Thanks so much for your kind words about the inn. We’re very happy that you enjoyed your stay in Cooperstown. We also appreciate your comments for improvement. In regards to the bed frame, we were able to correct the squeaking right away as it amounted to the fact that a couple of screws in the frame had come loose. While the frame has some welded parts other parts must be fitted together to allow for disassembly and moving. All is now tight and squeak-free.

We appreciate your understanding of the challenges that come with retrofitting a historical building. We have and continue to evaluate options for shower enclosure. So far the double curtain, outer, designer-style waffle weave cloth curtain with an inner liner, has been the best option. As nice as glass walls sound, aside from the expense, they come with their own set of challenges in a commercial environment.

Thanks again for choosing to stay at The Inn at Cooperstown.
