Very nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff in an excellent location to beach, dining and entertainment. Had a wonderful vacation! Room included a comfortable bed, very nice kitchen and modern bathroom. Room could use a chest of drawers for underwear and other sundries. Also, could use another sleeper sofa. It was hard to open and we never did figure out how to close it. If you sat on the edge of the sleeper bed after opening, it would tip over. Wi-Fi okay near gazebos. All in all, very good choice.

It's a nice bungalow type property, so doubt be expecting the Ritz carlton. The rooms are well kept and it's a great location. Yes it's pricey, but it's fire island where they make their money in 4 months.

Second stay at Dune Point and equally as pleased. My boyfriend and I stayed in 2 different rooms this go round. On our previous trip we stayed in the 1 bedroom oceanfront, which was spectacular. Unfortunately, that was not available, so this time we stayed in the 2 bedroom oceanfront and the studio with private balcony. Oceanfront is a must! I still prefer the 1 bedroom over the 2 bedroom. The 2 bedroom is similar in amenities and style, both not updated, but still nice, obviously with an additional bedroom. We slept in the smaller bedroom as the a/c was better and less noisy. The nicer bedroom had a really old a/c and loud and didn’t cool very well (I like my room freezing), so depending on your preference, if you're staying with another couple or mate, choose wisely! :) We also loved the studio with private deck, as it was very modern, bigger bathroom, and very cozy. It still doesn’t' beat the views that the others had, but it was perfect for us. My favorite was by far the 1 bedroom oceanfront. The staff is superb, always trying to make your stay even better. For the 2 nights we stayed there we didn’t eat out once. We brought everything from the island over and cooked breakfast and dinner at both rooms. They provide everything you need, but if you're cooking make sure to bring your basics, like cooking spray, paper towels, and condiments from home to not spend a fortune at the local market.

During the peak season, the rates may be pricey, but it's worth every penny! Can't wait to go back next year!

We had a great time in Fire Island, and staying at Dune Point made it comfortable and welcoming. I traveled with my husband and 2 kids, and we were there for a wedding. The staff at check-in were very hospitable and helped us get settled in quickly. Even though there is no daily maid service, the staff are visible throughout the day on site, and we got fresh towels from them everyday. All you have to do is ask! :)

We stayed in room 12 which was a delight. It's part of the back property, so we did not have an ocean view, but the entire property is open to all guests. There was plenty of access to the beach. It was quite amazing to only be a few steps from the ocean. My kids loved the boogie-boards, and we used the small beach chairs and umbrella everyday.

Room 12 is a one bedroom that has a pull-out futon and a queen size bed. The kitchen had all we needed to cook breakfast and make sandwiches for lunch. We kept the A/C running most of the time and did not notice noise coming from other rooms (some people below mentioned "paper thin walls"). If we ever return to Fire Island, we will definitely stay at Dune Point. It had everything you could need!

I saw about 7 of the rooms at Dune Point since we were a large wedding party, and every room looked very nice, well appointed, and clean. Thanks to all the staff for making it a great trip!

The staff were helpful but the property is really in need of MAJOR renovation if it is to be justified in charging the current rates. We stayed in room 10 and the fittings were very cheap and not really comfortable for a property that we were paying ALOT of money for . The bathroom was tiny, no fresh towels for a 3 day stay, the couch was tired, the kitchen poorly fitted out ( eg the tin opener literally fell apart ) and the walls very thin so you heard everything going on outside . The lack of wifi is ridiculous for the room rates! Also the TV reception is pretty poor and TV channels on offer limited.
The upside is the position - as it is right on the beach and room 10 has a lovely deck with sea views.
As per the reports a few posts ago and there is a lot of nudity on the beaches .. so if you are uncomfortable about this sort of stuff, stay away!

Room Tip: ask for room with beach veiws
