This house and grounds looked amazing from our stance while on a cruise of the Hudson River. We did not have a chance to tour the home but it looked splendid from our vantage point.

Beautifully restored & preserved home of the Livingston Family. Taking the guided tour is a must but start with the video in the gift shop so you'll have background information. It is easy to imagine how grand this house was when it was built. The grounds are extensive & the views of the Hudson River are breathtaking.

This house and property belonged to the the Livingston family who lived here for 7 generations and built the house in the 1700s. It is operated by the State of New York. Parking fee for the state park is $5 and admission to the house is $7 for adults and $6 for seniors. Rebecca, one of the docents, gave an excellent tour of this two story mansion and detailed information and history about the Livingston family. Great local and American history.

An excellent tour, I highly recommend it. Good lesson in early American history. Did not know that the Hudson River used to be called the North River.

It was so interesting. They all know so much about the Livingston family. The view of the Hudson River is awesome. The house is preserved as it was with furnishings etc. I really enjoyed my solo tour. They also have a video in visitors center to watch. So much history!
