Came here three nights in a row just for cafe Jules because the food was just too good! We had the crab samosa, fish soup, tiger prawns, garlic bread and of course the pizza! Everything was just so delicious and the owners are so friendly! So even though we didn’t stay at zombie cucumber, we came every night for the food!
Nice room with balcony, beautiful garden, good location by the beach, clean and comfortable, excellent mosquito net. Restaurant in the hotel is handy.
Breakfast is heavily overpriced, 6+ euros for coffee with bread, butter and jam is a bit excessive in my opinion. Restaurant lacks vegan options and the vegetarian options are slim. For the room price I paid, breakfast should have been included. Internet didn't work for a day.
Overall I would say the hotel and room are very good, but overpriced, so not great value for money.
We went there for food a couple of times when we were in Vilanculos. It was great every time. The owners also made sure everything was perfect and were very helpful in organizing trips.
We came for the food and stayed for the atmosphere and we surely regretted having booked another place for sleeping.
My kids and I had the chance to stay at Casa Jules, the guesthouse owned by the same owners as Zombie Cucumber - Valerie & Bruno. The restaurant was a wonderful gathering place with great food - breakfast, lunch and dinner. They accommodated our requests, even stored some of our personal, cold items and cut up a HUGE pineapple, all in addition to preparing great meals. When you are visiting Vilanculos, you must take at least one meal (or more if possible) at this lovely location!
Everything is perfect about this hotel: the beautiful space, the perfect location in front of the ocean, the helpful and nice staff, the beautiful rooms, the delicious pizzas and the lovely swimming pool! :) Thank you
