Magnificent setting !

We spent 9 days at Eden Bay. We were pleasantly surprised to find an oasis on a hillside in Vilanculos with a beautiful view of the Bazaruto Archipelago. The 5 islands are a boat ride away ranging from 30 mins to an hour, depending on the destination you choose. We experienced a heat wave of temperatures exceeding 35 degrees but the owners went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible. Remember to factor the Marine Park fees into your budget (only applicable if visiting the islands). Tip is to take an extra phone with you and buy a local SIM card as data is very cheap in Moz. Roaming data charges if international can turn out very expensive. The sea and beach is a short stroll from the lodge, and the views of the bay breathtaking. The area is exceptionally interesting and we found ourselves researching something every day from the history in the area to the marine life. This is just what we look for in a holiday. Paradise Island (Santa Carolina) was our favorite, however the snorkeling is wonderful at the other islands too. Our skipper, Benthu, was awesome and by the end of the holiday felt like an extension of the family. One of the reasons we always return to Moz for holidays is that you can let your hair down without fear of serious crime. We stayed in the self-catering glamper. We brought some groceries with us but also found everything else in the two local supermarkets (albeit limited range). We have been to Mauritius and Maldives a number of times and can, in our opinion, recommend the Bazaruto Archipelago as among the best in the world.

Eden Bay Eco Lodge is located a few kilometres north of Vilanculos. Wonderful glamping on the hillside, with the sea below and stunning views of Bazaruto Islands. These high quality robust tents comes with yor own kitchen, bathroom and shower. Excellent option for visiting the archepelago with safe boat-trips, for snorkelling, fishing or just having a day by the sea visiting the islands, with a picnic. The staff is just what you wish for! Friendly, helpful and service-minded. Tired of cooking? The chef, Saab, serves delicous meals right outside your front-door on your own terrace. Saab's cooking is gorgeous! Bring your own drinks, not waterbottles! If arriving or leaving by plane at Vilanculos airport, the lodge arranges transport. There is a nice cute pool for a dip and sunbeds under a shadetarp. Highly recommended, perfect choice for us!!

Eden Bay Eco Lodge in Vilanculos is one of the best places that we have visited for years!Uninterrupted sea views over all 5 islands of Bazaruto, blue water, good diving and excellent snorkling.Food was five star and staff was friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a place to sit back and relax, look no further!

Room tip: We used 2 Glampers connected to each other. Very neat and well laid out.
