We chose Eden Bay as it is an eco lodge and we could take our boat. The staff were amazing. Paul and Bernard so helpful and accommodation, assisting with boat and fishing lisences. Allowed me to play in the kitchen and all staff from chef to all the skippers and ground staff could not do enough. Views to die for, perfect weather and a hassle free drive to and from durban. First of many Moz holidays!

We have just returned from Eden Bay Eco Lodge where a group of us "oldies", all over 60, spent the last 9 days. We were fetched from the airport by Paul and driven approximately 10 km to the lodge. The lodge is set in a neat and tidy garden situated on a cliff looking out towards the azure sea. All tents have magnificent views and are well appointed. There is a lovely pool also with the spectacular view.
The food is simple but very tasty and prepared by the ever smiling Sammy. His chicken and fish dishes are a must! We fished or went to one of the islands in the Bazaruto archipelago on most days and the crew looked over us wonderfully ensuring our comfort at all times. Thank you Aug, Ben and Al. Paul supplied all the fishing gear and it is only the best and in excellent condition. Garden staff and cleaning staff are also extremely helpful.
The beach is approximately 80m down from the lodge but it is a little bit of a climb coming back up, but as mentioned us oldies managed it fine .

Paul is an outstanding host always ready to help, give advice and to see to all our needs, doing much more than we expected.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, I recommend this lodge with no hesitation and as far as we are concerned, exceptional value for money.

My children decided to take me back in memory lane to a long time ago excursion I had in Bazaruto. We decided to find accommodation on the mainland in order to be closer to the diving excursion company. We decided on Eco bay lodge because the eco friendly environment appealed to us. We found the facility comfortable, well situated and relaxing atmosphere with all needs catered for.
Tents add to a real eco friendly environment. Pool and braai facilities added to making it a pleasant stay. Using the paddle ski and kayaks really added to the fun.

The lodge carries its name perfectly...a slice of Earthly Paradise...
After having visited Mozambique for the first time last year, spending a beautiful 10 days in Guinjata bay, we decided to return to Moz to discover the 5 islands of Bazaruto. We struck gold again finding a place to call home run by passionate, professional and wonderful people.
Glamping at its best, wake up in peaceful surroundings to a panoramic view of the archipelago with colours constantly changing as the sun rises and tides change whilst on or off shore breezes waft clouds away...your worries with them. Tuck in to eggs n bacon, and a fresh fruit salad prepared by 3 star Michelin Sammi whilst you take your time to decide which unspoilt, truly heavenly island you would like to visit today.
As all beach, fishing and snorkelling gear is provided, with no more than a book, sunscreen and camera in hand, embark on a 21foot new boat with Benthu and Augustino for your day Island hopping, these guys know the islands like the inside of their pockets ! Dolphins, turtles, outstanding reefs await, keep yours eyes peeled for bird activity during the short crossing, a quick cast could land you a nice tuna !
A picnic lunch or brai will be served in the shade as you contemplate just how lucky you are, realising that there was no need to bring your book 😊
You decided to take a day off from boating today ? Chill at the pristine beach at the lodge under one of the niche parasols, watch the Dow’s, local fishermen or children play. Try the pool, chaises longs or hammocks too, whilst you wonder what delicacy Chef Sam is preparing for you tonight.
After a nice meal served with your favorite chilled SA wine ( yes this is Glamping, you have your own fridge !) relax to the sound of life winding down, the bush waking up and re-live your day spent in Paradise.
Tune in and drop out.

Thankyou to everyone at Eden bay for looking after us so well, for the quality of your lodge and hospitality, making an 8 night holiday as beneficial as a months rest,

Celine and Benjamin

We spent 9 days at Eden Bay. We were pleasantly surprised to find an oasis on a hillside in Vilanculos with a beautiful view of the Bazaruto Archipelago. The 5 islands are a boat ride away ranging from 30 mins to an hour, depending on the destination you choose. We experienced a heat wave of temperatures exceeding 35 degrees but the owners went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible. Remember to factor the Marine Park fees into your budget (only applicable if visiting the islands). Tip is to take an extra phone with you and buy a local SIM card as data is very cheap in Moz. Roaming data charges if international can turn out very expensive. The sea and beach is a short stroll from the lodge, and the views of the bay breathtaking. The area is exceptionally interesting and we found ourselves researching something every day from the history in the area to the marine life. This is just what we look for in a holiday. Paradise Island (Santa Carolina) was our favorite, however the snorkeling is wonderful at the other islands too. Our skipper, Benthu, was awesome and by the end of the holiday felt like an extension of the family. One of the reasons we always return to Moz for holidays is that you can let your hair down without fear of serious crime. We stayed in the self-catering glamper. We brought some groceries with us but also found everything else in the two local supermarkets (albeit limited range). We have been to Mauritius and Maldives a number of times and can, in our opinion, recommend the Bazaruto Archipelago as among the best in the world.
