Firstly, we were quite unfortunate that the location marked on the MAPS.ME took us around. We ended up driving 40 km off road. As a result, the exhaust pipe of our 4x4 broke off. However, with help from some locals we managed to reach our destination.
When we arrived, the owner offered to help us with the car, which was very kind and appreciated. During our stay, a member of staff went to the city, got us some spare parts and reattached the broken exhaust. We felt very lucky, until our bill arrived. The bill for spare parts was fair ($50 incl. welding in the city). However, the owners charged us another $150 for the manual work (1 guy for a day). We were shocked, as this did not seem to be a reasonable price. Obviously, they weren't helping, but rather making money of our misfortunate.
Accommodation/service:
A very friendly and pleasant lady at the reception checked us in and took to our room. The room was very nicely furnished, spacious and felt like a bit of luxury. The bathroom was decent but rather very dark (hard to tell whether it was clean on not).
Outdoor space was very nice with the pool, terrace, restaurant and a sea view. However, at one point we could smell a poopie like smell around the pool (not sure what it was). Nevertheless, we enjoyed the scenery.
The restaurant menu was quite decent. However, regularly, we had to change our menu choice as our choice was not available. Perhaps because of the low season. The food we had was very tasty and nicely presented. The drinks on the menu were quite expensive (the cheapest: small can of beer for $2,5).
Breakfast:
Day 1 breakfast was simple but very nice and enjoyable (croissant, cake, small bread, cheese, ham, jam, butter, fruit plate, eggs of our choice, choice of fruit juice and coffee).
Unfortunately, in the evening, after our dinner different waiter gave a bill with eggs on it!?! We were told that the eggs we had for breakfast were extra and we have to pay for it. Fortunately, the owner said that we do not need to pay this time as we weren't informed about it. What kind of place does 'breakfast included" and charges $6,5 for eggs???
Day 2: Next morning, we got our fruit plate, one bread, one cake each, ham, cheese, coffee, juice (no croissant, no butter, no jam, no choice of juice). We felt like being punished. After we finished, the waiter asked/stated rudely: "No eggs today!?" We felt quite shocked by his approach. Out of curiosity, we asked for the breakfast menu. It took him some time to find it in the kitchen.
Nevertheless the negative experience, we had a good time. For sure this is one of the trips to remember.
