While Mamma Mia Complexo is an attractive place the lady who is in charge only seems interested in ripping guests off. She had no record of our booking and charged us double what we had agreed when booking the room. Go elsewhere to stay in Vilanculos as it is a lovely town and stunning beach area.

Essentially Mamma Mia Complexo is an attractive place to stay, the rooms are a bit like a hospital and the breakfast is a bit disappointing. But the most disappointing if not outrageous thing about the place is the con run by the lady who owns it. When we arrived she had no access to our booking so I had to show her it on my emails. She then showed us a number of rooms more expensive than our booking before finally finding us a room all together as we were supposed to have. We assumed that despite the language barrier we had got what we booked. We had apparently not. When my friend checked us out she claimed that we owed her DOUBLE what we had booked to pay and she made sure she got double form our fiend before she allowed her to leave. She since claimed that this was the actual price for the room we stayed in and threatened to call the police if we insisted she was wrong. At this new price a stay here is completely not worth it. What ever you do DO NOT STAY HERE. Go to Baobab Beach it's so much better and great value for money.
