Beautiful spot for dinner overlooking Mirror Lake. Companion enjoyed a flavorful bowl of clam chowder nd crab cakes, I went with the servers recommendation of the salmon. Perfectly prepared and good service.

Debated on a Saturday night spot for our last dinner restaurant on a visit to Lake Placid. Clam chowder and onion soup to start and the preparation was very well done and promptly served. Chose the kale, blueberry and ricotta salad which left a little to be desired, server noticed a small portion was eaten and asked was something wrong? Shared it was a little overwhelming and his response was it has been hit or miss all summer. Did not offer another choice or suggest taking it off our bill.
Entrees were special. My wife had the salmon with a spicy apple chutney and I chose the rainbow trout and both were done to perfection a very nice presentation.
The desert we chose was the creme brûlée with lime purée and fried plantains. Served brought dish and there were no plantains, we asked if they were forgotten so he checked and said they apparently ran out and just sent the dish out incomplete.
The setting was spectacular, and parts of the meal were superb but there were portions that needed attention, maybe it was a long summer!

Highly recommend this location for dinner, wonderful atmosphere in the Adirondacks overlooking Mirror Lake. The scallops and the crab cakes were exquisite and the view spectacular.

Took a morning walk around Mirror Lake and saw this restaurant. Menu looked good so we said “why not?”. Left a message on the answering machine requesting a reservation and was called back later that afternoon confirming our requested time. When we arrived, there was a tour bus parked in front and we were worried about the crowd. No worry, service was excellent. Dining room has beautiful views of Mirror Lake. We both had crab cakes which were good.

Ate there on 9/28 and 9/30. Impeccable service and good food. Staff support each other, pay attention.and look like they enjoy their jobs while they are actually doing it; They don't rely on Mirror Lake to distract the customer. Prices are reasonable and food was perfect.
