The hotel is located about 2 blocks from Queensboro subway and you can take ride the purple line about 10 minutes into Grand Central Station and Times Square or take the yellow line to Central Park. There is a gas station located next to the hotel and a Dunkin Donuts on the walk to the subway station (perfect for iced coffees for the ride into the city!). If you're not wanting to shell out a bunch of $$ to stay downtown, this is a great option. However, don't spend the extra $10 or $20 for a "city view" room. It's not worth it.

The hotel is also located about 10-15 minutes from Laguardia Airport which is about a $13.00 cab ride.

The room itself was very nice and clean. It includes a microwave and fridge which came in handy with leftovers. There was also a little coffee maker with complimentary coffee in the room. The beds were very comfortable. If you decide to eat breakfast at the hotel, I recommend going before 8:30 a.m. It gets crazy busy after 8:30 and the hotel staff has a hard time keeping everything stocked. We usually just grabbed a couple bagels and headed back to our room rather than fighting for a table.

Overall we had a great stay. The front desk let us keep our luggage at the hotel after checkout since our flight didn't leave until that evening. We would definitely stay here again.

We were staying for a couple of nights to sight see New York.
Location was good for train station to get into the city.
Customer Service did not exist - we arrived and during check-in the receptionist answered their mobile in front of us while still processing our check-in and started having a good old chat while ignoring us. We felt we were in their way and an inconvenience.
We asked a couple of basic questions about the area and the receptionist did not have a clue and pointed at the tourist leaflet stand.
Our room was very clean and of a good standard.
Breakfast was so wrong in so many ways - My Suggestion: eat somewhere else
Plates, Cutlery, cups were cheap plastic. Juice was coloured water. Very Basic food and not sure what it was !. we had to clear our own plates into a large black bin bag sitting in the middle of the room. Not much room for people to sit either.
They seriously need to look at their environmental waste impact.

The neighboorhood is...meh...and there is no where to eat close by the hotel. But as a base for exploring manhattan it is great. Two stops down from the island and you'll save at least $100 each night for something comparable in the city.

Just make sure you eat dinner before you come back,

and if your loved one is afraid of subway stations with a urine smell probably should just pay to stay in the city haha,

Okay so it's not central Manhattan but use the underground and it's only a 3 minute walk followed by a 10-15 min train ride to Times Square. We spent a week here after a week in Las Vegas. We felt safe walking round at night and the hotel was great value for money - less than half the price of some equal quality hotels in Manhattan. Plus points - clean, friendly, reasonable sized rooms and free wireless network. Minus points noisy at times (due to other guests), breakfast was a scramble as never enough seats and no safe. Extra plus point is the garage next door were the staff were really friendly and seemed to sell everything! We bought a weekly underground pass which was great value and very easy to use and access the whole of New York. I'm not even going to begin with suggestions of what to do in NYC as the list is endless. It was our second trip in 3 years and must rank as one of the greatest cities in the world.

Room Tip: Away from lifts at one end.
