Excuse meeeeee. The Presidential Suite. Gorgeous. Did not reserve it because I am rich, but because I am old and got a reasonable price.
Mr. Kevin at the front desk was very courteous, nice and attentive. He knows how to smile.
The Hilton Honors website does not mention the suite as the Presidential Suite, only as a "1 King 1 Bedroom Suite w/tub on Private Floor". It is the only room on the 17th floor. It sits alone on the roof. Poor thing.
The living room is h-u-g-e (the way I like it); so is the terrace. There is another outdoor space in the back. The living room of the picture I publish is not that small. I should have taken the picture from the corner where the refrigerator, sink and coffee are. I was so excited I missed doing that.
The bedroom is 1"x 1". I am exaggerating but for my taste, it felt like that. I am sure "normal people" will not mind.
Tried to open the queen sofa bed in the living room to sleep in that huge space but could not. It was too late to call for help. Next time I will do that upon landing.
The corner of the carpet coming inside from the terrace is curled up. That should be fixed as if someone trips and falls, he will sue instead of watching where he is walking (as I did).
Lamps are needed on the desk and on the credenza in the living room.
As usual, the HGI pillows are too soft but the mattress is perfect.
From the suite, we can see the beautiful Long Island City Clock Tower from 1927 which is being restored. Thank goodness it was declared a landmark in 2015 so neither the tower nor the building will be razed to build more monstrosities around the hotel - - - more "boxes with glass".
There is a bar in the lobby which is closed due to the bloody virus. My point is drinkers have their bar but smokers do not have smoking rooms. How ridiculous.
To eat you may go next door to Hudson Food Market. The meatless sandwich is to die for. There is also a Checkers at 27-12 Queens Plaza South if you love its "fries" as much as I do.
The N, R, D subway lines go to Queensboro Plaza Station. Exit the station at 27th Street and Queens Plaza North. Walk straight on Queens Plaza North. If you walk as fast as I do, it will take about 5 minutes.
The E, M, R subway lines go to Queens Plaza Station. Exit the station at 41st Avenue and Northern Boulevard. Walk approximately 1 block NW to 41st Avenue. I used the other one so I do not know how long it takes.
(I overextended my review. Sorry about that.)
