We spent four glorious nights at the Hudson Valley Rose B&B with our two adult (22 and 19) children. My husband and I stayed in the Manchester Cottage (we had stayed in the Clarkson Room on a prior visit) to have some privacy and get to experience the awesome Japanese soaking tub. The "kids" stayed in the Ashley and Wilkison rooms. All the rooms have such great bathrooms that I am feeling the need to personally stay in each :).

We had such a wonderful visit to this beautiful property. We played games (they have a stash), watched a movie, napped and relaxed. On one of our walks on the property, we stood in one spot and saw a groundhog, rabbit, two chipmunks and a woodpecker all at the same time. One morning I was in the hammock and was visited by a mother deer and twin fawns. There were so many fireflies too. In the evenings, we ate takeout and watched the sun set while we ate.

We mostly stayed on the property but did go on a hike to some waterfalls and to a park to swim in a lake. The innkeepers are extremely helpful with advice on places to go, whether you are interested in outdoor activities, including excellent hiking within an hour loop; places to eat; nice towns to visit; or wine, cider and beer. There is excellent mountain biking from the property too.

We highly recommend it and hope to return.

Room tip: They are honestly all great. Each has a mini fridge, espresso machine and snacks too!

We had a wonderful fall weekend in the cottage - very romantic and special. The breakfast was delicious and the inn keeper is very accommodating. I would definitely recommend for a get a way- close to Storm King and many hiking trails.

We had an extraordinary experience at the Hudson Valley Rose. We stayed for two nights in November 2019. The place is beautifully appointed, from the way the rustic, tasteful rooms are furnished to the elegant and luxurious bathrooms. The beds were also amazing - a super comfortable mattress, and oh my goodness the sheets were so soft we wanted to take them home with us.

It is also hard to explain just how good the food is. The owners cook it themselves, and from the fluffy homemade frittata with local eggs and the French press coffee to the creative, delicious porridges and mind-blowing shakshuka, we were in heaven. They could open a brunch place alone and still draw us up from the city.

The location is also great. First, it was a 1.5 hour drive from the UWS. We took short drives each day, once to see the art at DIA:Beacon, another to do the “Gertrude’s Nose” hike in Minnewasaka State Park. We also considered Storm King and the Culinary Institute of America, both of which are nearby. The place itself is situated on 60+ acres, which meant we got lots of solitude, quiet, and natural beauty just out the bedroom window.

In short, we fell in love and will be back soon.

Room tip: They're all great, it just depends what size bed you want.

We had a weekend getaway with friends, and we decided to stay at the Hudson Valley Rose based on other reviews and the beautiful pictures of the property. We could not have been happier about our decision. Jace and Doug are amazing. They were able to give us great suggestions for excursions in the area including cider / winery / distillery tours, restaurants, bike ride options, and local farms. The rooms were so comfortable (physically and psychologically), and it the little amenities were appreciated. Both of our breakfasts were truly AMAZING!! My favorite items were the chocolate zucchini bread and lemon bars (breakfast appetizers), the breakfast cous cous, the veggie frittata and housemade sausage, and the smoothies at the end. I loved the homemade thin mints left out for us at night. We would not hesitate to go back!!

My husband and I came here a couple weekends ago to celebrate his birthday. We had a fantastic weekend. We loved it! The property was beautiful, the food was delicious, the hospitality was great! The owners Doug and Jace were lovely. There were so many recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the confirmation email and everything we did either came from that email or at the recommendation of Doug himself. We will definitely be back in the future!
