We popped in for a few drinks in the afternoon and found it to be clean, comfortable and friendly. The drinks were very good with the passionfruit ginger ale a delight.

The food also smelled great!

This restaurant is a recent addition to New Paltz, situated at a very busy (and often congested) intersection. The food is excellent, and I was surprised at how ample a portion of really good, spicy chili I obtained for only $5. There are plenty of options for vegetarians. Service is terrific.

The only aspects that might detract a potential diner are the lack of parking (the lot behind the restaurant is very small and some of it is occupied with construction materials) and the patio dining area getting rapidly filled up. Eating inside isn't bad, but it can get loud.

I have eaten in the original Lola's in Poughkeepsie for years and very much enjoy the food. This sister restaurant in New Paltz is even better because it has more seating and even a nice outside eating area, although it can get noisy depending on the traffic on Main St. and 32 North. The inside is roomy and has a modern look.

There are many delicious dishes to choose from. The South Beach Salad consisting of Sautéed shrimp, mandarins, dried crans, cherry toms, cucs, red onions, feta, and toasted almonds, over mixed greens w/ fresh herb vinaigrette was very good. Whatever my wife had must have also been very good because she did not want to share our dishes.

I was lucky to find parking (metered) on the street, but it could be difficult because New Paltz can get quite busy.

Just like the original Lola's, one orders at the counter and the food is brought to the table. Also, staff removes the dishes. The service was quick and friendly.

Although there are a number of fine places to eat in New Paltz, add Lola's to your list.
