Alta mare there’s not enough adjectives to describe the wonderfulness of the hotel and staff at Alta Mare. Our rooms were spacious with a jacuzzi and a patio. We had 1 double and 1 triple for 5 demanding New Yorkers.
They have other rooms with private pools and jacuzzi. If you want to splurge even more do it! Hotel has a infinity pool with cliff and ocean views. The pool is not very big but you get waiter service from the hotel bar. The views from the hotel are fantastic! Be prepared to climb lots of stairs the hotel is on a cliff overlooking the caldera.

The staff at the hotel were very attentive and pleasant they couldn’t do enough for us. There was an issue with our transfer from the ferry the hotel manager took care of the situation and made sure our transfer back to the ferry was Vip and it was.

The hotel breakfast was the best breakfast I have ever had on vacation, they deliver it to your room every morning. You place your order the day before and in the morning deliciousness arrives at your door by one of their charming waiters.

Santorini in (June-2018) was hot lots of people. The location of Alta Mare is perfect 10 minute walk to the Oia castle. Walking distance to restaurants and shops along the cliff side. There’s a lot of walking and climbing stairs in Santorini but the beauty is worth it.

While all the tours were 45 minutes or an hour away it was worth staying in Oia. I suggest doing the small Sunset Cruise Santorini and the Small sunset wine tours. It cost a little more but less people.

Oia is gorgeous and the hotel and staff of Alta mare made it perfect.

Our bucket list, 25th anniversary, trip to Greece ended on Santorini with a stay at Alta Mare (booked for us by True Trips Greece). There are only a half dozen rooms, each unique with some kind of water feature. It is definitely a place for honeymoons and anniversaries. We stayed in the Thalia suite with a "cave" Jacuzzi. The bed is a king-size tempurpedic which is sooooooo comfortable! I slept well every night. Wonderful bathroom shower with handheld and rain shower. Each afternoon/evening you receive an extensive breakfast menu, which is delivered to your terrace table at your selected time, beginning at 8 am. It is fabulous and beautifully plated. Housekeeping service morning and evening.

We cannot say enough about the exceptional staff, Tasos (manager), Rafaela, Yiannis, (reception who gave us good tourist advice) and Thanos (bartender and delightful breakfast server). Plus Kristino the porter who carries an amazing amount of luggage. So helpful, patient, always smiles! The staff will help you with all your needs.

This old couple found true romance at Alta Mare!!!!!!!!! The views are so incredible they have to be seen to be believed.

On the older couple note, there are lots of steep stairs that you need to feel comfortable with. Freaked me out at first, but got used to them. At the top of the stairs to right is a convenience shop with wine, water, snacks etc.--to the left is the lovely marble walkway of speciality shops and restaurants. The heart of Oia is just steps away.

Room Tip: I think that all rooms are exceptional. All have a view of the Aegean Sea and the terraced white buildings of the cliff sides.

Brilliant
Great location.
Will be back.
Loved my Villa Electra, breakfast was great, as I tried everything on the Menu. Enjoyed the Little Quotes. Enjoyed the Mountain Tea for my night cap. If the cost was less I would have stayed a week. I will be backed. I have already told my family and friends to visit your hotel.

My wife and I stayed at Alta Mare at the end of April 2018. We cannot say enough great things about this hotel and staff. The location was excellent, and the staff were the most helpful staff that we have ever encountered. An amazing trip to Santorini was made even better because of where we stayed!

We came here for 6 days in May to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary. Right from the start, the staff were amazing. Friendly, attentive, warm. We had Ekari suite, which was good for privacy (relatively - everyone overlooks everybody else in Oia), and had stunning views. Highlights from the hotel for us were: eating breakfast on our private terrace overlooking the white buildings and blue domes of Oia, watching tiny boats on the glittering waters below; getting into the private jacuzzi on the balcony with a glass of wine to watch the sun setting. We loved Oia for people watching. It gets a bit chilly in the evening in early May, so be aware - but it is also less crowded, so it's a good time to go. We also liked to go down the steps to Armeni bay (a long trek with beautiful views), a slightly scruffy seafront with one amazing little restaurant and a marvellous laid back attitude. Have a beer, a swim, some perfect seafood...the you can get a free shuttle boat for a 5 minute ride to Ammoudi bay, and tackle the 300 steps back up into Oia. The jacuzzi came in handy on the days we did that! In summary thanks a million to to George, Rafaela, Yannis, Thanass and all the team at Alta Mare for making our trip of a life time even more special!
