This was supposed to be a dream vacation in beautiful island of Santorini. My wife and I, along with our great friends just returned from a week in Greece celebrating our 30th wedding anniversaries. A wonderful, amazing trip which I'll review elsewhere. Except this so-called hotel. A couple of positives that warrant the 1-star: adequate breakfast, local close to Fira town.

Now the real deal. This family owned and operated and the owner who also works as the receptionist at the front desk employs her elderly male cousins and brother to do everything from maintenance, housekeeping and serve the food at the restaurant. The workers are poorly trained, rude and one is totally uncouth (he barged in on a nice American guest using the unisex bathroom at the reception area and proceeded to scream angrily in Greek for everyone in the crowded reception area to hear. Very embarrassing). I also observed a decidedly negative attitude towards non-white guests.

The rooms are also a problem. Both our friends and we got rooms with two twin beds, even though we had called and talked to the owner to let her know we are celebrating our 30th anniversary. The shower is tiny and almost non-existent. It's as if someone stuck a shower hear over the toilet - it's impossible to shower without getting the whole bathroom flooded. If you're tall, forget about bending to wash your feet - there's no room.

Don't stay here. If you have to, spend all your time out on the wonderful streets and restaurants in Fira. Overall, an unpleasant attitude and atmosphere and a very disappointing stay.

We had asked for an extension of our trip to Greece and requested extra days on Santorini. We are so glad we did. This hotel was chosen by our agency. It is very close to the center of Fira Town, just a short climb. Breakfast is offered. There is a view of the water from some rooms. We were delighted with our room overlooking the pool with a view of the Aegean from our balcony. Hotel staff were very friendly. The owner is another Anna Madrigal! We plan to return soon.

Whilst it's walking distance from the restaurants and cafe it is a fairly mediocre hotel. The furniture is outdated, and the room can at times have a distinct smell to it. Most staff especially the cleaning staff are incredibly helpful however a few were at times slightly rude. Speaking in terms of cost this hotel is reasonable for the price. If luxury is wanted undoubtedly look elsewhere.

Me and my friend stayed at the hotel for few days but it was really great. To start with when we arrived the receprionist offered us a welcome drink. After check in we were guided to the room (nice balcony with the view). The hotel is located 5 minutes away from the centre and the bus station so it was easy to move around. The pool was little busy but with the bar and music. Overall we had a very good time there.

Absolutely terrible stay at this hotel.
Dingy old room and bathroom smelled like sewer.
Located away from sea view cliffs and a bit of a trek to get to town. Not what I envisioned for a Santorini hotel.

Room Tip: avoid this hotel
