Stayed in the Orendaga cabin four nights. We arrived on Monday afternoon and were initially very happy. The cabin was clean and spacious. After settling in we located to the screened porch. The property is located very near the main thoroughfare with a steep hill. The road noise was horrendous with logging trucks, motorcycles, pickups with loud/no mufflers and general traffic. It finally quieted down about 9:30pm. The rest of the week wasn't quite as noisy, but it was always something: lawn mowers, chain saws, weed wackers and two small children in the house next door about 50ft away. Had to ask for toilet paper and soap the second day as there was no one around the day of check in. Kayaks/rowboats very heavy and no one usually around to ask for permission to use. No swimming allowed. No pottery/art for purchase as advertised. Property near cabin was messy with lots of dead brush/trees on the ground. We did not use the fire pit as there was no one to ask. We were looking for the quiet Adirondack experience...but didn't find it here. Maybe a different time of year would be quieter.
