My first contact with america! I was 1 month in Casa Terra, I shared a very interesting project with john and amber. A month that I spend quickly to feel at home. I shared jobs with John, I learned a lot about him, he is a great worker and a great person! thanks for everything ! I hope one day that our paths cross, thank you!
Staying as John + Ambers first long term guest along with another fellow volunteer, I believe was it was a good learning experience for everyone in many ways. There is a lot of beautiful potential here, and they are only going to improve with more experience, guests, and volunteers. It was really nice being able to socialize and learn with somebody from another country.
It was interesting and fun to stay in the cute little log cabin John built that over looks their garden, it's about a two minute walk from the earth house through the woods (but don't be scared there is very friendly energy in these woods)
If you are as in love with mother nature as I am, their property is full of lots of life, animals, plants, buggggss, and everything in-between, so it was nice being so closely connected to it everyday. I walked around the property bare foot most of the time. This is a good place to come if you want to be secluded in the magick mother nature has to offer. Soak in the sun, work on your craft, good place for writers+artists to hide out I would say, or family/friends looking to really bond with each other.
As a volunteer, come with a working mindset as there is much to do here and that they expect of you (nothing too hardcore, but definitely lots to do/maintain)
I can appreciate the effort Amber puts into cooking vegan/vegetarian meals pretty much everyday for everyone, and john cooked some yummy trout the he caught himself!! However if you are not vegan/vegetarian make sure to come with some food you like to eat!
There is this really cute little college town that they go to on Monday nights called New Paltz. Live music, food/coffee, and if you like to read check out Inquiring Minds.. I think that bookstore was the most exciting part of my stay. lol
If I ever need a place to rest, refresh and be inspired by, I know the way of Happiness! Terra Casa Retreat Center is a beautiful place to stay, have community involvement, be in balance with nature and have time to be alive :) I totally advise!
I stayed at Terra Casa for one beautiful week as a volunteer to help on art projects. It felt great to be so close to nature! This place is perfect to connect with yourself and enjoy fresh air. Amber's food and yoga classes are just amazing!
I spent one week at the Terra Casa Retreat Center and it was so relaxing!! The house is a beautiful earth sheltered home made with wood from around. The atmosphere here is full of good energy and if you have the chance to go to Amber's yoga class you won't be disappointed! Same with food everything I've tasted here was delicious and I discover great new recipes!
