We stopped here for lunch on the recommendation of friends who live in the area. The restaurant sits right by a dock overlooking the Hudson with views of the Mid-Hudson Bridge as well as the Walkway Over the Hudson (the pedestrian bridge). The view is unobstructed and spectacular. The walls are adorned with pictures from the area dating back to the early 20th Century, when river boats left from the docks outside the restaurant. We have two young children, and the kids menu hit the spot. I enjoyed an excellent salad with a piece of pan seared salmon, which was cooked to the perfect temperature. And my wife enjoyed a Mahi Mahi BLT, which she said was delicious. Overall, a pleasant spot for a weekend lunch. Would be a great choice when touring through the area. There's a riverside park with a river walk right outside the restaurant, and free parking.

We recently visited the Ice House to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. We were there early and the restaurant was quiet. I ordered the seafood macaroni and cheese which was absolutely delicious -a large portion filled with shrimp, scallops and lobster. My husband and his mother both had the October sauerbraten special which was tasty and again, large portions. The host and our server were very gracious - upon learning that we were celebrating a birthday, we were not charged for our desserts - a totally unexpected and very thoughtful gesture. We had the chocolate lava cake and the toffee blondie - both incredible. It was such an enjoyable evening with fantastic food and great company. We would definitely recommend the Ice House and look forward to dining there again.

Under staff and though they admitted it the majority of the staff didn't seem to care. Food was ok. Was seated after a long wait and told " your still on your wait just seating you now but expect additional wait for server". That's it no smile and walked off. They did this several times and of course people who came in after us and was seated were served first because no one had any idea what order we were in once seated.

Love this place and the food but our waitress Nicole was the worst waitress I have ever had. Was so bad we cancelled the meal and left. Manager apologized and paid for our meal.

We were directed here by a local durring out walk over the hudson. There was no one there when we arrived, so we were skeptical. The explaination for this was that we were arriving just as they opened. We took a chance, the menu was basic but had some different things on it. A little on the pricy side, but we sat down with open minds. The wait staff was very attentive, the service was quick and the food was outstanding. We had some salads topped with cajun shrimp, one with a side (huge side) of salmon that was delicious, and a mahi, mahi sandwich. We ordered a bowl of the old bay chips and were not disappointed! We followed up our delicious lunch with a slice of their peanut butter/chocolate torte and a slice of carrot cake which were both heavenly served alongside a nice steaming cup of cappucino. Lunch, wine, dessert, extras came out to $40.00 per person, with a very nice tip included so we weren't disappointed. The setting is beautiful, the food was above average but not over the top. I'd go back again, we really enjoyed our visit to Ice House.
