I go there occasionally, always have a good time. Food is good, esp. the Mac and Cheese, Steak, burgers, Wings!
Cheap bottles of wine and usually have music too!

This was one of the only open restaurants in Poughkeepsie on a late afternoon in Saturday. Really cute and the waitress was really nice! We order two flatbreads: steak and blue cheese, and bbq pork and pineapple. And the derby burger. All delicious!

In a unique part of the city, the menu is eclectic but everything we have ever eaten here is absolutely delish. The French Dip is especially tasty but really, everything gets our double thumbs up.

The Derby has an old school ambiance with lots of wood interior and a history dating back to the 1930s. I was pulled in many different directions by the inventive menu. Along with pub food standards I was deciding between Brussels sprouts in pomegranite reduction app, salmon wasabi burger, herbed fries and a jalapeno cheese soup. i had to pass all these up at the server's suggestion to indulge in the baked brie which came with baguette toasts and warm fruited apple slices. Gooey and delicious!

Looked interesting on the web site, was pretty much a local dive bar. Bring your cell phone to read the menu, lighting was extremely dim. The two of us were the only customers, service was VERY slow.

Could not order one of the specialty drinks, they ran out of ingredients = poor inventory control. The other drink ordered was very watered down.

“Teriyaki marinated grilled chicken spicy peanut sauce, Asian slaw”. A sauce? It came with softened peanut butter; they must have also run out of spices – it was just plain peanut butter.

“Pan seared beef tips over a caramelized onion and mushroom risotto”. Tasty, cheesy, however the few onions in the dish were not caramelized. I believe they also ran out of beef, there were no beef tips on the risotto. There MAY have been 2-3 miniscule pieces of beef in the dish, I could not tell if I was eating a small piece of mushroom or a piece of beef.

The baked brie appetizer, though, was good.
