Fairly iconic Jewish deli experience. I had a pastrami on rye and the meat was very good. Just the right amount of fat, sliced perfectly, piled high. Complimentary coleslaw was crunchy and the half sour/half fresh pickles that came with the sandwich were very good. Service was fast and quite friendly. My bill came to $18 which is fairly typical if not a low price for this meal in New York City but at the end of the day I wouldn't do it often because, come on, 20 bucks for a sandwich without fries or a drink?

Ben's food is truly delicious. They have a large variety of food. It is impossible to have anything that won't be good. But the traditional deli foods are amazing. The corned beef melts in your mouth. Sandwiches are overstuffed. "Ben's Best" truly s the best.

Ben's is a staple of the Rego Park/Forest Hills area for over 40 years! They have great Pastrami and Corned Beef, along with Turkey, Roast Beef and terrific Knishes! While the take out service can sometimes be slow, if crowded, the food is worth the wait. The Matzoh Ball Soup is the best. No atmosphere, but great food!

Having lived in Rego Park for a number of years, when you couldn't afford or get to Katz's, Carnigie Deli or The Stage Deli to impress your date, there was always Ben's Best. Food wise Ben's is at least the equal of the other "N. Y. Deli's" but it was a whole lot smaller and congested. And the wait staff, such as it was, wasn't as independent as the other Kosher Deli's in New York.

Ben's Best Kosher Gourmet Delicatessen opened in Rego Park in 1945 and as a family owned business it is in it's 3rd generation of Parker ownership and management. One good thing that being under the same management generally guarantees is the amazing quality of the food. The recipes and preparation must be pretty close to what Ben Parker sold to his customers since 1945; otherwise Ben's would be out of business.

Be forwarded- Come to Ben's without eating the last 2 meals on your schedule. All the meals are HUGE. And even if you finish your main meal, you just might want to try dessert. The Rugalach and Apple Strudel are delicious.

Lets face it, New York is the pastrami capital of the world and Ben’s deli makes it's own old fashioned, dark pastrami in their own kitchen and in their own barrels. Ben’s rye bread is baked daily. So it's stood the test of time.

The very first time you come to Bens, you only have one choice of deli to order. You order Ben's Pastrami on rye, accompanied by their famous cole slaw and 2 ( sour and 1/2 sour) kinds of pickles. Dr, Brown's Cream Soda finishes your order. And when the oversize sandwich arrives, you lift off the top piece of bread and squeeze a generous portion of yellow mustard on top of the pastrami. Then you EAT !!!

From then on whenever you enter Ben's you can try any of the other items on the menu. I've had most of them and I keep coming back for more. If you are curious about the menu, go on Ben;s website and look at it. It's very large, and if you make up your own variants on the listed menu, the combinations are enormous. BTW- I always take home a few of their square potato knishes and matzo ball soup. Delicious.

Enough already. When you are in Queens and have a hunger for a real NY Kosher Deli just go to Ben's Best and bring your wallet, Huge, delicious meals are expensive. Enjoy.

We enjoyed hot pastrami and hot corned beef sandwiches on rye with sauerkraut and cel ray tonic soda. Service was quick. Both sandwiches were so full of extremely lean meat that it was not possible to eat without a third of it falling out. I want to emphasize extremely lean as I have never had such lean tasty meat. In addition we split a knish. This was a knish like we used to get in the kosher wholesale district of manhattan when I was a kid. The sandwiches were accompanied by full and half sour kosher pickles and coleslaw. The pickles are by taste old fashioned barrel pickles. Price is commensurate with the quality of the food. I only wish I lived closed enough to eat here weekly.
