We went for dinner with a Groupon and, although I had reviewed the menu online and found it to be expensive, chose a la carte and prix fixe (not allowed with a Groupon) on a separate check. We shared a Caesar salad from the prix fixe meal. It was fresh, crunchy, tasty and more than enough for both of us! The bread basket consisted of sliced Italian bread accompanied by savory oil, butter and a tomato salsa(?). I chose the blackened salmon with coconut risotto and farm vegetables from a la carte and my dining companion chose the salmon in butter sauce with mashed potatoes, spinach and broccoli. WOW! The food itself was very upscale and the service was impeccable. We felt as though we were dining in a fine Manhattan restaurant. We also shared the desert from the prix fixe menu which was caramelized bananas with vanilla ice cream and crackled nuts (I forgot what it was called) , and couldn't resist also sharing a creme brulee from the a la carte menu. Nirvana! We ordered coffee which was smooth and full bodied...something I would relish as my first cup in the morning, but was perfect to finish this meal! The only glitch we experienced at this restaurant was a wedding party being held in a nearby room, which spilled out into the restaurant. Those guests were rude, loud and already very inebriated (to put it nicely). They left their empty glasses and plates wherever they pleased in the restaurant section, sat wherever they pleased and basically took over the space, without considering that these tables were reserved for dinner guests. It became so noisy that, had we not already ordered our food, we would have left. The servers and hostess were so busy cleaning up after those people and trying to maintain some decorum that it was taking away from their primary tasks. Even the manager got involved trying to maintain normalcy, but it seemed impossible in such a small space. We voiced our displeasure to her and she appeared genuinely concerned, even exasperated that she was powerless to control that crowd. We began to feel sorry for her! She offered to treat us to our glasses of Rose wine (it was Rose Tuesday) to make up for our discomfort. We weren't entirely satisfied with her offer, but we're glad we stayed. Eventually the animals left on the shuttle, the restaurant became calm and we could appreciate the atmosphere. And the food! It is something we hope to experience again soon (without the unruly detractors).
