La-Tea-Da is a great place. The food is good and the staff wonderful. However....East Rochester is a bit of a strange place to locate an English Tea Room. The demographics of East Rochester just don't seem to fit. This place belongs on Park Avenue or nearer their old location around East and Alexander. The village of Fairport or Pittsford would also be a good choice. Parking at the new location is a real challenge. There are no clear signs as to where you are to park. You can't pull in the driveway to the right of the building. It belongs to another house. When we visited the owner of the house had the driveway blocked with a house-sale sign. You have to either park on the street or in the bank parking lot across the street if it's empty. Then you have to cross a busy street...FAST... I didn't see handicapped entrances or handicapped parking anywhere so taking your grandmother there might not be a good idea.

My Sister and I took my Mom there for lunch last week. It was our first visit to their new location since they re-opened after the fire on Alexander St. Maureen, the owner, always makes visits a fun and enjoyable experience. She has tried to recreate the fun, nostalgic feel of the old La Tea Da of Alexander St and has succeeded nicely. I really felt like I was at Grandma's House. My Sister and I had the Portobello wrap and my Mom had her Portobello on a croissant. We all loved it. Maureen gave us a complementary scone with Devonshire cream as a thank you for returning and the 3 of us devoured it. Oooooh SO yummy! The Chef, Al, came out to our table to talk to us and had very graciously helped my Mom in through the handicapped chairlift in the rear of the building, as well as helped bring her back outside too. He was great and so helpful. The only thing that could have made our wonderful experience better was if Rick, who used to be our "Nippie" when La Tea Da was on Alexander Street, was working there again. Hope he comes back! He and Maureen were the "dynamic duo"! Both are delightful characters who turn an ordinary luncheon into a truly memorable occasion. There's also plenty of convenient parking.

This tea room is so much fun! They have hats and boas to dress up with, especially great with kids. They have numerous teas to choose from and the sandwiches, etc. are very good. They had a fire in January and will be moving to East Rochester soon.

Decided to have a day out with my daughter and granddaughter at La-Tea-Da. It was our first time and we were pleasently surprised. We had lunch in the "Alice in Wonderland" room. Everything was decorated so quaint. We were even encouraged to "dress-up". Lots of princess outfits for little girls and jewelry and hats for the big girls. It was fun to dress the part. We decided on the full afternoon tea. A pot of tea, variety of finger sandwiches, quiche, fruit, cookies, and a delicious scone with jam and cream. Yum, yum, yum! It was wonderfully displayed and very delightful. Our Nippie (waitress) was just perfect. She took very good care of us. We were so full that we ended taking a few things home. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are planning on making this a regular spot to go to.

We visited La Tea Da for lunch back in August! It was an awesome experience from the start. Our waitress was very knowledgable of teas. We had quite the party with little ones and adults! Lunch was delicious and so was the tea! We were so full & the girls were just full of sugar cubes!! The Harry potter bathroom & the Alice in wonderland room were awesome! Will be back in the future! Thank you!
