Description: Bryant & Cooper opened in 1986 with big ambitions: to bring the top tier New York City "steak house experience" to Long Island. Not only would the very finest quality, hand picked prime aged steaks be served, but an ambiance would be created that makes everyone feel like they are part of a special private club. For membership...just make a reservation. Founded by the three Poll brothers with two generations of restaurant ownership experience, Gillis, Dean and George learned at an early age that the secret of a great restaurant was to start with serving the very best. That is why the steaks, chops and jumbo lobsters are selected on a daily basis, and only the freshest side dishes find their way to a plate served at Bryant & Cooper. Over the years Bryant & Cooper has received superlative reviews for its entire menu. The New York Times has proclaimed it the "best steak house on Long Island."

We dined here the other night for our anniversary and it never disappoints! The food and service is always fantastic and although it's pricey, it's worth every penny. We started with a jumbo shrimp cocktail (photos shown) and tomato/mozzarella salad, both of which were delicious. Our main entree consisted of a filet mignon au poivre with peppercorn gravy and a dover filet of sole in a wine/butter sauce, both of which were absolutely delicious and fresh. The fish portion was rather large (see photo), so bring your appetite because the food here is way above par. We were so filled, we couldn't enjoy the dessert, but their selections are worth a shot. Would also like to point out the service at this restaurant never disappoints either... the waiters are knowledgeable and will recommend choices! When we made the reservation, we checked off anniversary and we were surprised they brought out some ice cream with a candle and sang to us... lovely staff!

We have been coming here for well over 10 years, and have yet to have a bad or even so so experience. Whether we are there to celebrate a big occasion, or just grabbing a random date night, the service and food are always top notch. This time was no different; as usual, my steak was cooked to perfection (perfectly rare), the shrimp was fresh, and our waiter couldn't do enough.

What we appreciate the most is that it's one of the only "old school" all around classic steakhouses around here that we can count on (down to the framed menus, and dress code of the staff). It feels like all of these new places are just trying to hard, which makes me appreciate this old school gem that much more. May they never change a thing!

We were staying next door at the Holiday Inn Express, so it was just a few steps away. The food was excellent. We both had filets and although they were rated as a rather "pricy" establishment, they were well worth it. Our drinks were hearty and the crust on our key lime pie, excellent! The service attentive and along with the decor and ambience contributed to a great dining experience with lots of character! Our only possible negative remark, it was alittle noisy, but we found it added to the ambience. We would definitely go there again if in the area.

My husband and I go there a couple of times a year and the food used to be always very good. They have great fried potatoes and all sides are usually very good also.
Last time, however, we didn't find the same quality, neither his steak nor my fish were that great. It`s a pity because we used to enjoy going there.

Hope it was only a day not so good experience.

I was absolutely blown away by the rib steak. What an experience! I thought it would be difficult to top Prime in Las Vegas, but Bryant and Cooper did it. I can't imagine finding better asparagus, what a treat. I will find a reason to come back, hopefully soon. My only disappointment was the speed at which the main course came out. We were going to order another round of raw oysters, which are incredible, but the main course came out right behind the apps. We felt a bit rushed, but still had an incredible experience.
