Just a plain old Chinese takeout joint. The food is not gourmet but they are good at what they do. All the classic Chinese takeout dishes are here and all prepared reasonably well. Nothing stands out but nothing is awful either. So if your hungry for your classic Chinese takeout Sing's will satisfy your craving. Just remember to stop at the cash machine cause no credit cards and no checks. Also a little pricier then this type of joint usually is but you are on the East End of Long Island.

We get the Lo Mein, it feeds a lot of people and is delicious. It's basic, easy and fast. Call it in, pick it up, its on the table in 30 minutes.

Remember when dinner for two at a Chinese restaurant cost $25. Not too long ago. This is strictly a takeout joint and if you call in advance and don't live across the street, your order will be ready in 15 minutes. Food is good and plentiful, but if you are two and are ordering one appetizer, one entree and one small fried rice, count on spending forty bucks - cash!

We do take out from Sin because it is the best Chinese around the Hamptons. The shrimp are large and numerous in the their dishes.

On a whim we headed for East Hampton Saturday. We arrived around 7 PM ravenous. Unfortunately, one place after another had long lines and we didn't want to wait. We decided to try Sag Harbor hoping for a charming waterfront seafood restaurant but there was none. The other places were packed as well but luckily we stumbled on Sing City. The girls will take Chinese food any time, anywhere.

It's not a place to sit and eat.

We perused the menu and prices were $4-$7 higher per entree. Ever budget conscious, my girls suggested we try somewhere else where the price per person would be less. I didn't want to waste more time so we ordered a combination plate then drove around to take in the lovely sunset. To our surprise, the portions were so large we couldn't eat it all, and I stayed close in case I needed to order more. Not necessary. It came with pork fried rice and the biggest egg roll I've ever seen. So while we paid $15 for a single combo, it was delicious and well worth the price.

If we knew where to eat in advance, we still wouldn't have waterfront dining and would have spent more. Sometimes settling for the old stand-by pays off, even in Sag Harbor.
