My husband and I recently stayed for 2 nights in the Barrow Suite, celebrating our 10 year anniversary. We opted to add the "Privileged Two" package, which included a four course meal at The Krebs, breakfast at the Skaneateles Bakery, a driven tour of various wineries (our driver was so kind and very knowledgable!), two in-room massages (the masseuse was wonderful!), and breakfast served in our room on our departing morning. We couldn't be happier with our stay. Our room was perfect, and probably the cleanest I've ever stayed in. The beds and linens were amazingly comfortable and luxurious. Katie was such a gracious host and took care of our every need. She packed us a wonderful picnic lunch that included a sauce that I am still raving about. She even went back out to the store because her avocados for our lunch weren't "just right" and made sure every last detail was perfect. The attention to little details like this is what sets 34 State apart and is one of many reasons that we will return! Katie makes sure you have your privacy, you wouldn't even know she was there, however she is always available! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are grateful for a wonderful and memorable way to celebrate our anniversary.

Room Tip: The Barrow Suite was wonderful but the Stag Horn Suite seemed to be just a bit roomier if you're looking for more space.

34 State is a beautifully restored 1840's residential building exquisitely decorated with modern bathrooms, mechanicals, electronics, etc. Bed and pillows best ever; excellent self-serve breakfasts.
Last but not least, Katie & Jack are wonderful hosts, We spent two nights in October and did not want to leave!

Room Tip: We had the second floor suite. John& Betsy Hunter, New York City

Pretty home, beautifully decorated, luxury appointments, exceptional breakfast...but honestly, it feels a little "cold". While it is just lovely, I'd say it is not "welcoming". Pretty in a museum-y sort of way.

We opted for in-room breakfast, which was perhaps the best I've ever had. Yummy, beautifully presented and sufficient.

The overabundance of Mackenzie Childs' "stuff" almost felt like a showroom not a B&B. Same with the linens spread out on the dining room table.

Bathroom...PERFECT. Roomy, good lighting, good shower, CLEAN, good linens, and a fan that actually removes humidity.

Loved the setup of the 24-hour coffee/snack area...well thought out and really nice.

Room Tip: Can't imagine that there is a bad room in this place...

We stayed in the Barrow suite which was large, luxurious, and clean. The bathroom was modern, bed was so comfortable with Matouk linens! What a treat. Bottled water, large screen tv, sitting room - all top of the line. Nice short walk to the cute town. Don't miss Skaneateles bakery! Plenty of goodies at 34 State too. Owners keep their distance which was expected but are available by text anytime. Perfect situation. Only one other room which really makes you feel you are in your own home. We will return!

Room Tip: Barrow suite is a king bed.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so glad you enjoyed the privacy we offer here at 34 State! We offer full service but from an arms length away which we like to consider "Quiet Concierge". The unique setting allows our guests to feel as though they are living as the locals do. We look forward to having you back again in the near future.

We stayed at 34 State for 2 nights in September. Before we arrived, I had emailed the host Katie back and forth and she was very accessible, answering all of our questions. Throughout our stay, Katie was also extremely helpful in providing suggestions on dinner, things to do and even running routes. She also arranged a wonderful boat tour around the lake for us. We stayed in the Barrow Suite, which is beautifully decorated, with an AMAZING shower, and very luxurious sheets/towels/pillows.

We had ordered a hot breakfast in our room the first morning, which Katie had catered to our vegetarian diet. She made a delicious avocado toast, with an egg scramble, and instead of bacon, she made us a delicious smoothie.

The pantry was well stocked with more than we thought. There were great cereal options, fruits, yogurt, hard boiled eggs... and more.

It is a short distance from the main road, and the lake, so it was easy to walk to restaurants, shops, yoga, etc.
