Finest service from very friendly staff allover. Located on the beach with own little strip. The design is very clean and modern and the room very good equipped. The best of the hotel is the restaurant with chef Franco and his staff. So good food every day. I couldn´t find anything to complain. The spa was also fantastic. So this place is really something special. We will definitely come back!!

What can I say? Our stay far exceeded our expectations. From the time we arrived to the time we departed the hotel, the service was beyond excellent. The room is very modern and clean. This hotel gives excellent customer service a new meaning. The owner, Jean-Pierre, and all staff at the receptionist desk, especially Stephanie went above and beyond to make sure we were more than comfortable at all times. Kudos to the wait staff! Chef Franco's meals were simply exquisite, and my friend and I felt we were dining at a five star restaurant every day. The kitchen was more than happy to even prepare meals that were not even on the menu for us. The spa services were unbelievable and very reasonable priced...Talk about being pampered by the staff. Overall, a fantastic experience with staff genuinely more than happy to have you around. My only regret is we did not stay longer, but I will definitely spend my whole vacation here the next time I am in Mauritius.

Room Tip: Easy access to city center by free boat ride offered by hotel. If you can get a room with an ocean view.

We stayed at Baystone for 10 nights in November and had a brilliant stay. Our experience echoed all of the other reviews. The hotel is beautiful, overlooking the bay, and is immaculately maintained by the team. Our room was in the main building on floor 1, with a great view towards Grand Baie and mountains in the distance. The room was modern, airy, light and spacious, and was kept impeccably clean by the housekeeping team. The bed was enormous and supremely comfortable. As many other reviewers have said, the two things that make this hotel stand out are the service and the food. Every single member of the team was so friendly and genuinely interested in making your stay as memorable as possible - everyone had recommendations of things we should do and see, and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. The food was also exceptional - al la carte breakfasts, with everything cooked fresh to order. Dinner was a 3 course treat every night with local, fresh ingredients, all served by a knowledgeable and friendly team who were always happy to adapt the menu choices if you wanted something different. We used the hotel bikes to cycle to the big beach at Mont Choisy, went on the catamaran trip to Iles aux Gabriel booked through the hotel (which was a great adventure on a windy day with a bumpy sea!), and visited Ile aux Cerf on the east coast, which we would also thoroughly recommend for a day trip. We had a great time - our first trip to Mauritius and Baystone - and we will be back!

This little boutique hotel is an absolute gem of a place and the staff its shining twinkles! We stayed in Suite 2 and the decor is very contemporary and modern but also very comfortable and spacious. You can see attention to design detail wherever you look but the highlight of the room has to be the ginormous spa-bath overlooking the beautiful bay.... wow! We spent most of our days lazing by the pool - the view of the bay and the quiet atmosphere of the hotel conjures such serenity and is so conducive to true unwinding. All original plans of activities and exploring fell by the wayside as it seemed such a shame to waste a moment away from this perfect piece of paradise! We did tear ourselves away for two couple's massages, which were sublime. I am an embarrassingly picky eater but Chef took my quirks in his stride and the food was delish. All the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive and nothing was ever too much trouble. A special mention to the quiet, calm but highly efficient Stephanie at front desk, and to the funny, bubbly waitress, Corina, who makes the best "Cocktail ala Nicole" ever! ;) You will never be forgotten! Best wishes from Tom and Nicole Barlow

Wow, wow,wow and another wow for good measure. You only have to read other peoples reviews to realise that this hotel is simply perfect. Its rooms are stunning and ultra modern, and if like us you have a ground floor junior suite with its own terrace leading onto the beach and pool area, then you literally have a room, whereby you are gently woken each morning by the lapping waves virtually at the foot of your bed. This isn't a hotel for those who enjoy a dip in a pool that is the size and shape of a blue whale, nor is it a place that has miles of white sandy beach to stroll along, so if these are your requirements, then you should book to go and join the hundreds of other guests at those impersonal complex destinations, where quite frankly you could be anywhere in the world with this type of establishment! What you do have at the Baystone however are 21 beautiful rooms coupled with an outstanding friendliness from its wonderful staff, that truly make your stay exceptional. The charming owner greets you at some point every day, and the fabulous Chef Franco, wanders out daily for a chat about his food that we thought was delicious, especially when he prepared a fresh lobster meal for us at our request...perfect ! Every member of staff needs to be highly commended, and I have to say that every one treats you as a friend and not just a room number. Thank you lovely ladies who were sheer joy at breakfast time- you know who you are, and the delightful ladies and on reception that are a real asset front of house, and who put a smile on our faces every day. I hope from reading my review that you totally understand my vibe here and that by the end of it, I have helped you make your mind up about booking this hotel for the most perfect stay Grand Baie.
