Perfection in paradise !

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 19 Feb 2024
First time to Mozambique but regular guests and fans of &Beyond and all the principles they stand for. Outstanding customer service, employing the local community in the resort, AMAZING food paired with stunning South African wines, superb snorkeling, beautiful beaches and the resort staff - DOUBLE AMAZING. Zane and the team simply were superb. We are lucky to have been to four &Beyond resorts and they are all simply the best !!

My wife and I visited andBeyound Benguerra Island for a 5 night stay to end our honeymoon and it was the perfect ending. In desperate need of some rest and relaxation, this was the ideal way to spend it.

After the short helicopter flight, we were greeted by Isaac (who was incredible the entire stay) who checked us into the resort and got us situationed. Introduced us to our butler - Nelson - and set us up for a welcome lunch outside our private Casinha.

We were staying in Casinha 1 and we felt like we were on our own private resort. We were tucked away from all the other guests, although the walk was longer to get to the main part of the resort for drinks and meals - which was never an issue for us.

Nelson was very attentive to our needs and made sure we were always satisfied with food, drinks, snacks and always just a phone call away if needed. Nelson made sure our stay was perfect.

The activities (snorkeling, Dhow sunset cruise, picnic, and island tour) were all great in their own way. It was good to see how the resort is adding to the island economy and take great pride in employing and helping the locals.

Our room was very comfortable to relax and sleep in. The AC worked great to keep us nice and cool, and we never had a bug issue indoors. Walking around at night there could be bugs (it's an island in a tropic location) but the provided bug spray was enough to keep them away. I think after 5 days I had 1 mosquito bite.

The outdoor shower might not be for all, but we personally loved it. Showering at night and looking up at the stars is pretty magical.

We've never been to this part of the world before, but we cannot wait to return.

Stayed here with my wife for final leg of our honeymoon after safari and we loved it. Facilities and food are fantastic. Our butler Enya and whole staff made our honeymoon very special. The manager, Zane, was on premises and so friendly. Beach is one of most beautiful I’ve ever seen. We did a castaway picnic, sunset cruise, and we went deep sea fishing. All were incredible. One of the best fishing days I’ve ever had in my life. We will be back!

Room tip: People on here worried about bugs and complaining couldn’t be more wrong. Place is fantastic. If you like to fish: it’s a must.

This was a novel sort of tailored experience and my first stay in Mozambique. The Island is quite beautiful and diverse. Beautiful see-through blue waters and perfect brown sand beaches encompasses the beautiful denizens of the island. I learned that the hotel employs majority of the natives to provide jobs, which is enriching. On a tour of the beautiful island, I learned that the hotel facilitated the development of a hospital, with maternity ward and a full time doctor who resides in the clinic to tend to the healthcare of the islanders. The hotel also constructed a school for children. However, the service at the resort is immaculate to be honest. Helder was our personal concierge and he was always available when we needed him. He maintained a happy demeanor and was generally pleasant to be around. The food was spectacular everyday and every meal which was often customized to individual preferences. Needless to say, there was unlimited barrage of drinks which added much cheer to the experience. The actual lodging was well kept and comfortable with a large king sized bed surrounded by blinds to keep bugs out at night. There was a nice tub to take baths. However, the only shower was an outdoor one which worked well considering it was private and the weather was generally quite warm.

Room tip: Try the island tour for a different perspective

We were blown away by andBeyond's Benguerra Island Resort. From the dramatic arrival by helicopter to the exceptional staff and services, to the beautiful scenery, this resort was spectacular. Our villa was beyond words. Abel, our butler, provided us with service beyond compare. We went on an island tour and learned about the island and it's history. We snorkeled and saw amazing coral reef and marine life; and rode horses on the beach. Food and drinks were fantastic for each and every meal. This resort was a little slice of paradise!

The most beautiful, quiet beach I’ve ever visited. Water was clear and blue and calm, perfect for swimming. Weather in early July was perfect for sunbathing. Accommodations were spotless and luxurious and private. Activities (snorkeling, sunset cruise, touring the island community) were awe-inspiring and fun. Food was plentiful and delicious. But mostly — the people. Every single staff member was warm, welcoming, helpful, kind, generous, and lovely. I cried when we left as they waved goodbye to us on the helicopter. I couldn’t recommend this resort more highly. It was a beautiful experience.
