best hotel ever I have visited .very nice accurate service as just before you order something with phone you find them knocking your door .the room is cleaned twice a day also its in the heart of stone town and near forogani street where you will find cheap sea food but its expensive for me as I spent about 320 USD per night anyhow I recommended it for honeymooners

Stayed: June 2015, travelled with friends

The hotel has a great feel and the view right out to the beach is fantastic, but the rooms are quite small and everything seems outdated. I had issues with the shower and tv and overall, everything just seemed like it needed to be refurbished.

The service was good and the food is okay, but the price is high for what you get and there are nicer places on the island that are more reasonably priced.

Great staff.
Very clean and a great pool are which is also very clean
Rooms are a bit small but you are not in them much
It's time for a bit of a upgrade
Starting to get a bit tired. New mattress, new linen and pillows required. Hyatt next door will hurt if you don't upgrade. Serena has the better pool and great views. Breakfast is okay plenty to choose from.
Would stay again if just had a few improvements to the rooms

one of my favorite hotels, elegant and nostalgic. very friendly staff,
central location, but away from the noise. nice swimming pool with great views. the terrace is nice for sunset drinks or/and a night cap. the restaurant is very nice if you sat next to the windows.

Stayed 3 nights in this lovely hotel. The property is well appointed with beautiful art work and historical items. The pool area is incredible. SPent a day watching life go by on th esea from our sun loungers. The afternoon-tea served pool-side was fantatstic. We had a tour of stone town and also the spice tour arranged by the hotel. Both were excellent. Spent a day at the hotel beach property (20km away) with hotel arranged transfers. Lovely time in the sun and great lunch.
