We are not big fans of set menus - we don't need to eat 3 courses - and even less fans when the choices are limited as they are on Yarri's current menu - no choice of entree or dessert and only a choice between fish (swordfish last night) and pork.
But good produce expertly cooked assuaged our fears.
And with one diner being gluten free and another not eating fish or pork, we actually found there was flexibility in this very tight menu.
A vegetarian option - pasta with vegetables - replaced the fish/pork and minute, inventive changes replaced the gluten in everything so that that meal very closely resembled the other meals.
That's what a good restaurant does - meet it's patron's requirements.
Well done and thanks.
And to top off what was a night of great food, good wine - we went with the paired wines - and great company, our waitress for the evening, Charlie, was a delightful, mature, engaging young person who made us feel welcome and valued.
Despite our preference for a la carte, we will be back again and again.
