We stayed here with friends and each couple had their own two bedroom, two bath unit on the top floor with sea views. The units are spacious and very comfortable with televisions in bedrooms and living area. The living/dining/kitchen area is exceptionally fitted out and also has fireplace and a barbie on the balcony. There is also a washer and dryer, should you need it. Bathroom amenities were of high quality. Staff was extremely helpful and we had maid service daily. Only drawback was the slow wifi during our stay, but Adam, the manager, said that would soon be upgraded. We used the coffee shop/deli for breakfast every morning and were impressed with the array of inventive dishes. I had something different every morning! It's a beautiful spot and we enjoyed a couple of walks to the rocks for sunsets. I want to live here! Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Upper floors, ocean view

Smiths beach resort is a luxurious yet cosy stay. The staff and Adam were very welcoming when we arrived & made dinner reservations for us at a nice restaurant just around the corner..
The ocean view apartment we had was perfect for our stay, & felt like home! The kitchen was spacious & we used the bbQ (on the balcony) for dinner on 2 nights, it was super, especially with the oceanview right in front! And not forgetting the sunset!
The self-contained apartment had everything you need to make the stay comfortable and to “assist” with cleaning since we did not opt for housekeeping services - so the dishwasher came in v handy. There is a washing machine & dryer too if you would need.
We did not need much ‘help’ from the Smiths beach team during our stay so we did not have further interaction with them.
The only issue we had though was that there was some grass cutting / gardening going on right outside our apartment on 2 mornings very early and it disturbed our sleep since the noise was coming in from the bathroom right next to our bedroom.
That was not so nice as they should consider also the guests who are sleeping in, but we have no other issues. :)
The nearby beach is really nice and perfect for chilling or surfing. Many locals are there too and the place can get quite busy but super nice, friendly atmosphere on the beach.
All-in, defo coming back here if we are back at margaret river region and will recommend it!

Four of us doing the Margaret River wine country and friends had recommended Smiths Beach. We arrived as the reception was closing but Adam the manager was extremely nice and helpful, even came across to our units to help with the luggage after we checked in! We were given complimentary upgrades to 2 Beach Houses - top floor facing the ocean - fabulous. Our unit was huge, 2 beds, 2 baths, living room/dining room, fully fitted kitchen, large terrace completed with a gas fired barbecue, and came with a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates! Location is fabulous, but slightly remote so having Lamont's Restaurant, plus the Coffee Shop for breakfast and lunch, with a small shop, really made our stay. All of Smiths staff are super friendly and helpful. Just a great spot - highly recommended.

Room Tip: Any of the top floor - up the hill units - have views of the ocean.

Stayed three nights with my husband after seeing the special 3 night bed and breakfast deal with gourmet brekky, chocolates, wine tasting etc. Well the accommodation and location is exceptional but it was overpriced. The breakfast was not gourmet. Not even offering a juice to go with it. It was served in the deli area not even the restaurant. And you had to pay for a newspaper. When you're spending in excess of $1300 for three nights it just could have been more special. Not even salt and pepper in the kitchen.
So a little disappointed with attention to detail but overall would really recommend the accommodation. We had an ocean view one bedroom apartment and it was so spacious and luxurious.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Smiths Beach Resort. It was disappointing to learn that your breakfast experience in Lamont's Gourmet Deli fell below your expectations. Your feedback has been discussed with Lamont's owner and executive Chef Kate Lamont. The Lamont family prides itself on its product and service and we apologise that we let you down on this occasion.
Along with a selection of T2 herbal, English Breakfast and Earl Grey tea's, Margaret River plunger coffee we offer sachets of sugar, sweetener and salt and pepper in our Villa kitchen caddy's. Had we been made aware that you were unable to locate salt and pepper we would have happily pointed them out or-restocked your caddy during your stay. We were however so pleased to read that you enjoyed our exceptional location and accommodation. We look forward to welcoming you back to Smiths Beach on your next visit to The Margaret River Region.
Kind Regards,
Adam McWhirter
