We had a really great two night stay at this immaculately kept hotel. Our room was clean, cosy and quiet with rocking chairs on the porch and we really appreciated the complimentary home baked cookies and great selection of coffees and teas. Very centrally located in Blowing Rock and a few minutes walk to a nice range of local shops and numerous dining options. A special mention for the very helpful lady on reception who made two tired travellers on the Blue Ridge Parkway from the UK feel so welcome plus her dining recommendations. We had great meals at the Speckled Trout and take away pizza from the Mellow Mushroom and loved every minute of our stay.

Been going to Mountainaire Inn for 8 years. Last year Jim and Debbie sold it and just hasn’t been the same. The only person who makes you feel welcome is the long time employee, Kaitlyn. No one else even says good morning. Rooms are clean, bed was so squeaky and sunk in middle that we had to have them turn over the mattress. Love the Blowing Rock location, but the lack of charm and customer care will keep us from going back.

We want to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your stay. The satisfaction and comfort of our guests is a top priority for us, and so we do sincerely apologize for missing the mark on your latest experience.

Although our boutique hotel is under new ownership as of September 2021, we have not had any significant changes to our team since the transition. Our entire team shares a wholehearted commitment to providing the same attention to guest service that you have always received over the years.

To enhance the guest experience further, we are proud to be introducing new services and amenities to the property, including a recently announced bed & breakfast package option that provides a daily High Country breakfast buffet and access to an indoor swimming pool and fitness center at our sister property steps away. We are also in the process of implementing a handful of property upgrades including the installation of new, larger televisions to guest rooms.

We greatly value your review and do hope that you will give us another chance for your next stay in Blowing Rock.

My wife and I were looking for a quick, private getaway on short notice. With no real destination in mind we searched online for an idea. We found the Mountainaire River Cabins, the pictures and descriptions looked nice, the price was more than reasonable and they had an available cabin so we decided to book. I'll admit that based on the price our expectations were not very high. To say that we were pleasantly surprised would be the understatement of the year! The staff were delightful and helpful, allowing us to checkin early, provided recommendations for local restaurants, etc. We pulled over a charming little wood bridge over the steam to find the property was well manicured and maintained. Our cabin was nestled in beautiful foliage providing a lovely view and complete privacy. The cabin itself was immaculate, well appointed and meticulously maintained. Beautiful front porch with rocking chairs and a swing, living room with a remote gas fireplace, new furniture and flat screen tv. The kitchen was modern and well stocked. Beautiful, clean bathroom. The bedroom has a queen sleigh bed with a very comfortable mattress and linens. I could go on and on but will end with this, if you are looking for a perfect romantic getaway look no further! We will be back as often as possible.

We have come back to this very pleasant Inn each year since 2013. Close to all the attractions and downtown walking to the shop. Management has recently sold but new owners are great. Very accommodating.

Our first trip to Blowing Rock and we absolutely loved it. However, the Mountainaire Inn was quite disappointing as we found it to be very very overrated especially given the price point for a 1 night stay. We had 2 rooms (11 and 12) for my family of 4 adults. If you like old and somewhat dilapidated, you’re less than 6’ tall and can easily navigate on terribly sloped floors this might work for you. The carpet needs a major cleaning, the bathroom sink is a joke, the ac is iffy at best and the TV is very small. The lights over the bed could be considered a hazard if you are so inclined as I am to often need a quick bathroom run in the middle of the night. To further emphasize, if you’re taller than 6’ you might find your feet touching the window. In all fairness I could not in good conscious give this less than a poor rating since it is on me to have read the less than satisfactory reviews more carefully as they are spot on.
