My husband and I stayed here 3 nights during the week to celebrate our anniversary. Although we came here to stay in the beautiful mansion and partake in several spa treatments, it was the service that impressed us the most. From the moment we checked in and were greeted by the doorman and the hostess, we were treated as if we were the Lord and Lady of the home. Everyone had a smile and was ready to about anything to make sure we enjoyed our stay. And that we did!
We had spa treatments shortly after our arrival and were acquainted by the just as wonderful Life Enrichment Center staff on all that was available to us. Spa robes were at the ready in our lockers and we took advantage of the steam room, sauna, pool and Jacuzzi while we were there. We also like the aroma infused shower heads in the locker rooms.
Our guestroom (The Veranda) was beautifully decorated and we loved how it opened up to an 'almost' private terrace (it is public but no one else used it until our last day). We were provided complimentary water bottles (with our names printed on them) during our stay, which was a nice touch and they are trying to be more 'green' and not offering disposable water bottles. Outside of the room, they have a keurig coffee maker with a good selection of k-cups.
We had all of our breakfasts and one dinner at the resort as well as a couple of lunches at the spa. Once again, service was impeccable and each of our meal choices were well presented and tasty.
The only small complaint was that on our last night their was someone staying in the room next to ours and it was quite easy to hear them talk through the wall. However, when they learned that we were in the next room, their voices lowered and we didn't have an issue with hearing them anymore.
Landscaping is beautifully maintained. They had lots of classes at the Enrichment center and we took advantage every morning of a hosted hike (included in the rate). Westglow has their own large vans, which they used to take us to various hiking paths off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Speaking of vehicles, they also offer complimentary rental of their 2 BMW vehicles. We took the sedan out what rainy day into Blowing Rock for a change of pace. It was a nice bonus!
All in all, it was a great time away and we highly recommend Westglow Resort & Spa to others

West Glow provided a relaxing weekend. The attention to detail is top notch. The bed and linens were luxurious. The professionalism of the staff cannot be topped. The coffee bar in the hall each morning was provided with coffee cups and saucers -- not mug! Great attention to detail. We plan to return soon.

Room tip: All rooms are nicely appointed. Love the balcony from the Portico Suite.

My fiancée chose this exquisite destination for my birthday gift. What a wonderful pampering experience! The Westglow spa is a world class spot.

We spent three luxurious days and two nights at this picturesque place. Each of us made spa treatment reservations and were most pleased with the facials and massages we received.

Dinner at Rowland’s each night was deliciously gourmet, as were the breakfasts we enjoyed in the lovely solarium.

Highly recommend this gem of a getaway.

Our Deer Run suite in the "lodge," down the hill from the main building, was little better than a Marriott Courtyard, with a tiny shower literally in the bedroom. There's no way this room should be considered in a class with Relais & Chateau, or priced that way. The main building is nicer, and the rooms there may be better. But those were booked so we never saw them. The piano player in a room with a fireplace is pleasant, as is the dining room, and the service was good, but the food was just ordinary and not worth the price. On a very positive note, when we had car problems, the manager lent us a new BMW to use for the day.

Room tip: Ask for a room in the main lodge.

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry our Lodge at Westglow didn't meet your expectations. Guests that select our Lodge seek a more rustic, secluded environment remote from our formal Manor House. Our website has very detailed information and photographs of all of our lodging, including the Deer Run Suite. The pricing for the Lodge reflects it's casual design and remote location. We were happy to accommodate you in one of our BMW vehicles after your unfortunate accident and offered to help in any possible way. We wish you safe travels.
