Reserved Cottage 122 for 3 nights. The place is SO RUN DOWN and dirty. The sofa and chair give you a back ache. The bedroom looked nothing like the pictures. The sheets were put on wrong side out and as thin as a kleenex. I had to go to Goodwill and buy pillows to support the sinking sofa. There was 2 forks, 1 teaspoon, 1 salad fork in the kitchen drawer. No dishwasher tablets or liquid soap, so I bought some. The pillows were really lumpy and flat. The bed was extremely soft with no support either. I paid $150 for my pets, and for that I expect that the rooms be CLEANED if others brought pets. I wanted to get a mop and clean the grime off of the floors, but that is not my job. Overall, I was glad to get out of Blowing Rock. It is not longer a pleasant vacation spot.

While the setting is nice with a pond in front and a stream in the back, the motel itself is quite run-down. The board walkway leading to the rooms has loose boards and broken ones that seemingly invite falls and lawsuits. A complimentary breakfast is no longer served, per the front desk clerk, because the kitchen failed the health inspection. With the proper attention and investment, this property could be a nice place to stay.

I wouldn't recommend staying here. The night I stayed, I paid extra for a jacuzzi suite (the only reason I paid extra for that room), and the jacuzzi didn't work. The next day I emailed management about the issue and how disappointed I was. Eleven days later I finally received a response, saying they couldn't replicate the issue I had and that they were sorry I was dissatisfied.

After they emailed me, I immediately emailed back, yet I have not received any further communication from them. It's been 4 weeks since their last email, and over a month since our stay. I think that's more than enough time for them to make things right.

I feel that I was really nice and accommodating about this issue, and that they could have at least offered to refund us the difference between a standard room and the jacuzzi room (I think it was about $40).
