We absolutely loved this place and the people. We wish our trip could have been longer than the 2 nights. This place goes above and beyond with the amenities they provide. The entire stay was fantastic including the delicious breakfast that was included in our stay.

This is a lovely boutique hotel but we will not stay here again. The view of the sound is wonderful and the rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. But.....You can hear every step and every conversation even with all the doors and windows closed. The constant chatter and loud banging around by people all morning and evening destroyed all sense of calm and serenity that this place would otherwise provide. I myself was in tears the first night after driving 6 1/2 hours from Va to what I thought was going to be a nice quiet getaway. My husband and I did not sleep well the whole visit because of all the noises and televisions from other rooms. Loud talking outside of our room was very disturbing as well. This felt more like a sorority house than a quiet peaceful getaway. The fresh cookies in the afternoon was nice. The restaurant was wonderful, both for breakfast and dinner. If you don’t mind noises all day and night then this is the place for you.

Room tip: Great View

Awesome, friendly, extremely accommodating. The staff and hotel were so nice. I truly felt pampered and on I felt like I was truly on vacation. The complimentary breakfast was delightful. We ordered off an actual menu and the food was outstanding.

Steve, Gina, Melissa, and the entire staff at the IOPS could not have given my fiance and me a more perfect weekend getaway. We felt right at home since the moment we got out of the car and were greeted by Steve late on a Friday night. Our room was spotless, the amenities were more than enough, and the dock leading out to the sound was picturesque and provided us an evening retreat. IOPS will be catering our wedding in less than 60 days and we could not be more excited to return.

We hosted our small, intimate wedding of 15 guests at the Inn on Pamlico Sound. The service was beyond amazing and the experience was extremely memorable! The rooms at the Inn are beautiful; the food was phenomenal; and the views are breathtaking. The staff went above and beyond with everything they did from our wedding coordinator Gina, the owner Steve, our server Melissa, and the executive chef Seth. There are not enough complimentary words to describe the overall experience. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at the IOPS!
